That's a touchy question.......... However to keep children you already have and struggle is one thing, but millions of people already living on welfare, getting their needs met from help of tax payers..... plan more babies......... and continue the cycle. I feel its irresponsible.

But the truth is more people having children are cover by welfare, then personal insurance. AND THEY PLANNED TO GET PREGNANT. and wont work or wont work enough

If i could not take care of my childrens needs, i would let someone that could raise them. To give them the best possible life.

I agree with debbie, however more seem to be planning babies they cant afford then not being able to afford the birth contol. I know in my area planned parenthood provides birth control at a very low cost.... You see posts on here all the time of people that cant afford the kids they have but are still planning more.

This is the unique area where American medicine has failed the poor and working poor in our country. I propose that if birth control was easily available or even free of charge for the indigent or working uninsured, there would be fewer surprises and there would be less money out of county, state and federal treasuries.

This issue costs all of us. Literally, it's one more mouth to feed, and in the US, if Mom can't feed us, the government feeds us. It's everybody's problem. Is it right to keep having children when your "oops" is taking money away from my children and everyone else's, too? No, it's not right.

This situation needs a lot of fixing, but I'm brave enough to admit I don't know how. I personally recommend to every high schooler to use two forms of birth control (e-mail for the details) and to adopt out their child if they've not yet finished high school. Education both in this subject and in every subject cannot but help, but children raising children on welfare not only doesn't help, it makes things worse.

I personally don't think it is right. If you can't afford them. Then you shouldn't have them. I'm a tax payer, And I don't want to have to pay for other people's kids.In someone Else's question. They said, if you can't afford one, How in the heck do you think you're gonna be able to afford 4,5,or 6. There's no reason not to use birth control. So in my opinion, No it's not right.

I don't think so, when it's done intentionally. A lot of oops pregnancies happen when the parents can't afford a child but I don't think those pregnancies should be terminated.

I don't think so. But unfortunately, right or wrong, no one is going to do anything to stop it. It would be great if people had to pass an intelligence test and psych evaluation before they could procreate, but that won't happen either. I guess this is one of those things you just have to "let go."

It is wrong to have children if you don't have the resources to feed your children, or if you are not a loving parent, or if you endanger your child's life.

Otherwise, money has little to do with being a good parent. My aunt was filthy rich (dr. was a head anesthesiologist in St. Louis), and she still managed to break her kids' noses and throw boiling water on them, and lock them in their closets, and to break them down through constant insults and ridicule.

Money means nothing.
