They're kids. They don't know any better.

I should add that I'm reading your Christian words and translating them to Atheist, then in turn translating my Atheist response into Christian. I don't support belief in your religion. I do support loving ultimate reality more than one loves individual human beings.

The love God gives Christians to love Him with is called "agape" - an out-going, unselfish love for both, God and neighbour (includes children too). Children have a natural, in-bred love called "stergos" - which is a reliance upon the adults to meet their humanistic needs like Food, clothing , shelter, nurturing, ( this love is self-centered and essential for survival).

Is it not God who decides if we have children? Is it not God who instills the breathe of life in a child?

Is it not God who creates all things?

Since all that we have or will ever have has been given by he who spoke all things into existance. Our very essence is by his Word speaking and creation coming to being through his Word.

So, thank God that he prolongs your life. The only reason any of us are still alive is because of his will. So why should we not love him more then all things, including our children he has so graciously given.

He gives life, and he takes it. And all who die in their sins, all those who choose to be disobedient because they love sin more then they love God, will be cast into hell and at judgement, the lake of fire and brimestone.

We are to love the Lord God, with all our hearts, minds and souls. And he deserves it.

Worse, how could you reconcile loving a god that ordered you to kill your own kids. Gods seem to do this quite a lot.

When children are real little you are God to them.

I would be so happy I might dance (I can b/c I am not baptist anymore) around if my child was wholly dedicated to God.

I think this is great, and very normal. The Lord wants us to love Him more than anything, and then He blesses everything. It's normal for children to love you more, they know you better! Good for you!

Wow. I couldn't reconcile that. There is nothing that I love more than my children. And I believe that God would be pleased with that.
