psht, i took my friend with me on my honeymoon and we had a blast! we had two rooms, so we had ALONE time. but walking around disney with my best friend was awesome. we had all these pictures taken, she rode all the scary rides with my husband because i suck at them, then she rode the baby rides with me. we went swimming and shopping and it was just great! :P
it was SO not sexual at all. we are not like that, it was really just a great time. and it was actually my husband's idea to invite her. :) really, i can not stess how much fun it was. i mean, unless the couple has never had sex together before, it's not like they need THAT much privacy. we had our own room our wedding night and we picked her up the next day. :) to each their own i suppose, but i really do not think it is about threesomes or weird things like that.

The only time I have heard of that is when it is a destination wedding. Meaning they are flying somewhere and getting married, so sometimes they bring the maid of honor and best man, plus parents with them.
Other than that no I have never heard of a best man going on the honeymoon. I think that is very weird!
I bet the bride didn't know it was a package deal... or maybe she did!

I don't think it's that wierd. It would be fun to spend time with your best friends even if it is the honeymoon. Friends can bring a lot of joy to your adventures. It's not like he's gonna be with them 24/7. It wouldn't bother me a bit if my best friend decided to take a vacation and go the same place I was going for my honeymoon. Neither of us could afford to take that kind of vacation, but once in a lifetime so why not enjoy it together for some of the time we're there.

I think it is really weird but then I would of thought going to Cancun for a honeymoon weird too. Itsnt that like a big singles party place? I would choose somewhere more romantic where we could be alone and I certainly wouldnt take the best man and a random girl.....but to each their own I guess...

That is pretty weird. The only time I have heard of the best man going on the honeymoon is when the couple gets married on a cruise.

Actually, my fiance (who was the best man) went on the honeymoon with his brother and new sister-in-law last year, but the circumstances were different. My fiance travelled from Chicago to Australia (where his brother now lives) for the wedding. Having travelled that far, he wasn't going to just turn around and come home. His brother and new wife were going to spend a few days at a nearby beach house, so my fiance and another family member (who travelled from Atlanta) went along. Now, my soon-to-be-brother-in-law keeps asking where "we're" all going on "our" collective honeymoon (they're going to travel from Australia to Chicago for our wedding). So, maybe it's not so strange!

The original idea behind honeymooning, is that the bride and groom get to be together alone. Times change......or maybe some people have different interpretations on what their wedding vows mean?....
