Does any one know if yahoo reports suspected animal neglect/abuse to the relevant agenceys eg: RSPCA ??? AND IF NOT WHY NOT????

I replyed to a post last night after looking at links which had been put up regarding other posts by this person which I found quiet distressing, yet tonight the question has been removed, but will anyone be reporting this sad person? Or will this so called “dog lover” just be allowed to carry on regardless?

Some great ideas here J
But How do we get the attention of the powers that be ???? MAYBE if there is a moderator keeping an eye on this topic you might be so kind as to bring it to the attention of the powers that be please ;)

What a great question!!

Well, let's see, in this day and age with allll the people out there not willing to stand up for anything, with all the people out there who won't take responsibility, with all the people out there who sue at the drop of the hat, I doubt Yahoo does anything other than delete questions.

There have been several people on here (before Michael Vick) who have asked dog figthing questions - they want to know how, where, how much, whose doing it. These people are getting ready to commit a crime if they haven't already. Wouldn't society be a freakin better place if people stood up for what was right? Wouldn't society be a better place if people did something/took action and didn't sit in their Yahoo office overlooking some skyscraper while their porsche or jag or super expensive car is parked in the garage? Wouldn't it be nice if Yahoo stepped up to the plate and said "you know what - we are facilitating questions between people of the world, but if you inquire about illegal activities or mention that you are involved in/with illegal activities, we know who you are and we will be contacting your local police". I mean, for christ's sake, they can punish people on "to catch a predator". We all have usernames, we all had to provide info to get our accounts, they have to know who we are. I'm not so stupid as to think that yahoo doesn't know who I am.

And what a better place this would be if the police came knocking on your door with the yahoo questions/answers that "you" wrote and said "oops, I see 3 dead dogs in your backyard, looks like you are participating in animal cruelty". Or, if they want to say, my brother's sister's cousin's friend's uncle used my computer - well then Yahoo, nut up - be like XBOX and boot their asses/accounts. At least then we don't have to hear about it - troll or truth.

Stand up for what you believe!!

i don't know what question you are referring to .. but all i can say is that i feel totally SICK!!

In my time that I come on here.. which is fairly infrequent, to be honest... I've, thankfully, encountered mainly very nice and helpful people. I have, however, encountered some SADDOs who reply with stoopid answers or I've seen SADDO's elsewhere whilst browsing through, one way or the other!

The one thing.. I WILL NOT TOLERATE.. is cruetly to animals..and I really think..if YAHOO .. is reading this..you should really be doing something about it! Whether the person (sickingly) be making a "joke" post.. it does not matter! The fact that the "sick" thought is there really (sadly) says it all!

The internet, unfortunatly is a breeding ground for a lot of "strange" people and things that they, perhaps find "normal"..but the majority of people will find sick... this is the part of the net that I detest so much... but how can I/We change that?!?! I don't think we can.

I'd be happy to supply my full name and address to yahoo answers (as long as it wasn't to get advertising sent to me) to proove I'm a normal and nice human being (oh and into the bargain.. i'm a total animal lover)!!!

Could/would this be a way forward?? It may not (sadly) prevent cruel things happening in this planet..but it may make yahoo answers a little nicer for the people here, the majority I believe who are nice loving and kind people...especially when it comes down to the issue of animals!

If anyone feels that something on here isn't right.. then report that person to yahoo. Sadly the "tw1t" will probably change their IP and email addy etc.. but perhaps if YAHOO monitor this site "properly" they could contact all of us who have taken the time to answer to this post and perhaps, together, we can all find, perhaps .. the best way forward! From my present and past experience as admin on forums.. i have knowledge of posts deleted/edited etc by people..admin and users and mods etc.. so someone must know about this post!!!!

The more I know my dog..the less I like humans!!! (sorry peeps..that's an old saying.. and not directed at the nice peeps here on YA but for the sad and bad people that we end up coming across in life)!

I'll stop ranting. xx I'll go cuddle my gorgeous best friend instead...my little doggie xx Take care all and give all your pets a big kiss from me too xx LALA xx

It's frustrating and distressing true. But Is there a way to be 100% certain that posts aren't made by some sicko with a warped sense of humour or some kid who thinks they can shock you by telling you just how cruel they are? Neither of them would actually do it!
Some don't care if it accomplishes what they want! Others may not know or think that they are being cruel! The only thing you can do is try and point out why you think they are abusive or neglectful and if you know it the laws which they are breaking if it applies. I'd prefer to see them inundated with replies than for some-one to report them. Enough people telling them 'your wrong' may make a few change their ways. This particular person seems to have been the one 'got to' as she has removed her contact details. She's trying to hide!!
If yahoo COULD report it (You are as anonymous as you want to be and so shouldn't be traceable ) though then that would open the door to them reporting everything, from suspected drug abuse to your views on racism!! Or your political affiliations!
That would make a mockery of our 'freedom of speech' rights!! We don't quite yet live in a 'Police state' and I for one would prefer to keep it that way!

Yahoo should be policing the site and making sure the questions are not linking other people to sites which show distressing subjects. But idoubt it because Google *same people as yahoo i believe* bought out Youtube which do not police the site allowing videos of people being beat up and the videos going on site!
I watched a programme on BBC1, Panorma and This was said by the man who runs Youtube:

They said they do check the videos before there allowed for viewers to see, however they cannot remove videos or comments because if they remove one or 2, they have to remove all of them.

Goldengal hit it right on the human nose!! wonder if we could post this question to Yahoo?? there has to be some way to do something.. As I am new to Yahoo I would not know how/where to go to get the info as to if we are able to add that to Yahoo.. What a great addition it would be.. like a clickable link that will repot it and have Yahoo investigate it, also put one in human abuse... spousal, child, etc!!! what a difference it would make!! even if it just made them go away for good .. You know like stop feeding into their psychotic issues....But as they can just create a new profile from what I understand.. it would have to go to their IP address.... hmmmmmmm

But I have seen "Dog Lovers" post and was repulsed and just did not respond ...........

I highly doubt they do. Yahoo has no way of telling who is truly abusing their animals and who is being a troll and trying to get a reaction out of people.

If Yahoo reported every person who said they beat their dog, the humane society would be completely overwhelmed, especially when in most cities the department is so stretched as is.

I knew who you were referring to even before I read your last two lines. Country girl aka dog lover (my @$$) !!! Your question is a very good one, and I really don't know if they report or not, but they should!!!! I agree & feel the same way you do about this person!!! Did you noticed she couldn't take the heat any more & made her profile(s) private? I do hope she has to pay some way - some how for the suffering she caused that little precious puppy!!!!

I know who you speak of. I wish Yahoo had a resoure for this to be done but I don't think so. If that were the case people like the one you mentioned would be caught and procuted.

Many of us tried to reason with this person almost and some did beg her to get her pup some help but she ignored us with one lame excuse after another. If Yahoo did have a way to report these people I'd be the first one to do so.

Don't count on Yahoo to report or do anything! I've seen a lot of thrash here on Yahoo Answers and some of what I saw took 11 months to delete!

Oh, I know JUST who you're talking about. I doubt there's anything Yahoo can do. It can't be sure this person is not just a troll. I wish there was something that could be done to punish this Snake Vomit, but I really can't see how. That particular pile of vomit changes names, and has caught on to how to block people and delete questions. But don't worry. Experience shows that we will have the 'joy' of hearing from it again.
