I went through that after I came home from Iraq . I was in bad shape . I wasnt even talking with my wife , wouldnt work , just drank booze and slept . The miracle cure for me was going to live with my parents for 2 months . You have to get away from what is making you deppressed or in general , you need to get away from your normal day , your normal b.s. ! Good luck !

I feel the same way right now! I have issues going on in my life that are pretty severe! I live in a constant unknown as well, which makes matters worse.

But what I find helps me is when I am feeling the most tired, I force myself and go to the gym- I do about 45 minutes of good cardio (run 3 miles and do the elliptical machine). It gets my endorphins going and I feel a lot less tired.

I also started seeing a shrink every other week. It helps to talk to her because I tend not to really open up to other people about how I really feel.

I haven't started any medications for it because I get nervous of side effects, but I hear taking a xanax once in a while to help you sleep and to get your chemicals back on track a little helps.

Yes... I got to the point where I lost interest in everything and everyone. There was no reason at all to get out of bed or look forward to the day ahead. There is hope. There are treatments for depression. A partial hospitalization program helped me by adding structure to my day and making me interact with other people. Please talk to a doctor or counselor - they know the best thing to do for your situation. Also if you are suicidal, get help right away. Wish you the best.

Been there, done that. In bed, covers over the head, crying non-stop, losing 15 pounds in less than a month. Get up, go to work, come home, crawl back in bed - after having a couple of drinks to numb the bad feelings first. Believe it or not, it does end. Please hang in there; I know it's tough and it's really, really hard, but hang in there and one day you'll wake up and go about your day and at some point realize you've starting feeling better and didn't even know. Good luck; I'll be thinking about you.

I'm with you there. Although bathroom breaks aren't an option, when you gotta go you gotta go. I definately have my days/weeks where I don't leave the house except to go to work. At home I pretty much just sleep and use the puter. Some people just don't understand what it is like and tell you crap like "get over it", but I know exactly what it feels like and it bites. Hope you feel better soon.

Yup. I've been so depressed I'd just sleep all day and skip classes. I didn't have the energy or desire to get up and eat or do much of anything else.

I haven ever had this happen to me but it is true. People who are depressed often have a chemical inbalacne in their systems. Get yourself enough energy to see a doctor and they should be able to prescribe you medice.

ya....i havnt had it that bad but some of my friends and family have.....try going to a doctor....if you cant afford...go to a free clinic they might be able to give you a perscription...for antidepressants....whatever you do dont be like me....keep your head on your shoulders and stay away from the hard **** (coke acid crack...etc) and even though your going though a hard time just know that its happened to other people too. theres always someon worse off....thats probley not consoling but its true.

Best of luck.....BERTA
