thats the beauty of decorating
you are NOT trying to be like everyone else you are supposed to be expressing yourself
so if you want all the same color try it if you prefer accents go for it
but either way have fun with it

Well depending how you decorate I would go with some accents walls in different rooms. For example if you have a butternut yellow you could accent with a dark red or a deep green.. Good luck!!

1] each bedroom can be totally different because they are private spaces
2] public rooms are living, dining, hall, and downstairs bath.
They usually have some color in common, but that could be floors, walls, furniture, windows, flower arrangements. You could put some yellow flowers in the LR, and yellow candles in DR.
3] you shouldn't match everything, but should repeat colors in a flow from room to room.
If you do yellow accessories in LR/DR; then use green from LR to DR, and peach from DR to kitchen, for instance.

I painted my living room and dining room including the ceilings lemon yellow and I love it. It is really bright and cheery. I say if you like it do it. Why worry about what others think?

If it makes you happy, do it.
(About the only color that is painted in each and every room is the color white.)
