Since the beginning of time men have (in stories, lore and in real life) felt entitled or driven or whatever to cheat. Is it genetic? Is the idea of human loyalty to one person simply absurd? I am asking out of genuine curiosity and not trying to slam one side of the populace here.

Women don't cause male behavior. All people own their own behavior. I have cheated. I have been cheated on. I have been loyal. I will never know if I have been treated with loyalty. Wondering if it is a human possibility for men to be loyal when their hormones are involved.

Genetics has nothing to do with cheating. I think double crossing human loyalty applies to both males and females evenly. I believe your perception comes from such sources like magazines, fictional books, movies, and personal - friends and yourself.
I think men tend to communicate less about being cheated on, as oppose to women who have a much greater support system and therefore it's acknowledge more.
In the end, cheating sucks for both sides.

Not all men cheat. I know that sometimes men will cheat on GF's because it's easier to do that then breakup with them. they do that so the girl will breakup with them. As for married men not all cheat either. People cheat because of the way the person they are cheating with makes them feel about themselves. They need an ego boost or maybe the female is more successful with the male and to feel better he cheats. Some of the most beautiful women have been cheated on with women less attractive them then. Their partners have low self esteem and need to make themselves feel better.

Not all men cheat.
Though it is genetically encoded to do so. We're wired to spread the seed around.
Women are wired to want the well built chest beating knuckle draggers for making babies, but the less masculine types for RAISING the babies.
It's evolutionary.
Oh.. and if you've cheated before, you're no good in my book.
Once a cheater, always a cheater.

i don't, and I'm tall and dark(tanned, im not Black), but not handsome. so my faithfulness hardly matters. Here's a hint. arrogant men who think they're too good for anything. If you're in school they're the guys in the "cool group". they're most likely the people to cheat. Because they're cool, they think they can get whoever they want. Exceptions apply of course. Guys in the middle popularity range have a much lower tendency to change.

Not every guy cheats. some are afraid of commiting so they just go to someone else. Iti's not genentic. Some are players, and pimps and such... Mostly commiting when you have one girlfriend it restricts you from dating other women. They have to be real guy. and be commited. Some women are so clingy to men that they cause them to kinda drive them into other women they lose interest.

I do not agree with this, my thoughts are if your friends first and really get to know someone on the friendship level you will know if that person is the right person for you as a life partner, being married or not.

Agree with getsome. Not all men cheat.
All men look at other women, no doubt. It is in our genes to look at as many potential offspring bearing partners as possible.
It is literally out of my control, I do it subconciously by instinct.
Don't be jealous of your man, he probably can't help looking either.
