Because as children we are carefree and jealous of the "cool" things adults get to do. I'm only a teenager and I told my parents I'm never growing up. I will physically stunt my growth to stay a kid. But there comes a time where we look back and say how stupid we were and that's when you know you're growing up. Growing up responsibilities sound great. All grown up no worries sounds a lot better.

Good question! When we are young we see (through rose coloured glasses) all the great things adults do and then we grow up (reality bites) and see all the not so great things adults do and pine for the younger days again of being carefree, no bills, kids etc.

I don't know I think this is a question everyone has been asking for a long time. It is kind of like why did the chicken cross the road. Although if you ask me for real I do not want to go back to pre children.

and why do some straight haired people want curly hair? or some naturally lighter skinned people want tans while some of the tanned Asians are like obsessed with whitening cream? i guess we all want something that we cant have or cant experience at the moment, so we seek to change? i never really had that motion though, enjoy the life while you're in it, stage by stage.

It's human nature, we always want what we don't have. Fat people want to be skinny, skinny people want to put on weight. it's the way the world is.
