Pregnancy can kill any size dog.
A small dog can die if it is bred with a dog that is larger than her.
Knowledge is a must when breeding because many things can go wrong, so it is best to be prepared for any and all possible situations. Even the most knowledgeable breeders can lose a b itch while pregnant or whelping.

Pregnancy usually doesn't kill any dogs (unless under rare circumstances.) It's normally the birth.

Birth can kill any dog, but it's rare. Even a small dog should be fine, as long as she is well fed and cared for and is not stressed (being left alone, beaten, yelled at, starved, locked outside or inside.)

Good luck!

Pregnancy can kill any dog, regardless of size. Pregnancy is dangerous to all dogs, not just small ones. If there are any complications and they are not caught quickly, the dog is in danger of dying, and even some that are caught quickly are too serious to save the dog.

Pregnancy can kill any size dog, just like humans. Certain breeds have more difficulties than others , for example, bull dogs b/c of their large heads. You shouldn't breed your dog if its smaller than the breed standard, that will cause even more problems for your dog.

There's always a risk, but with precautions, the risk can lessen. Small dogs do seem to be the ones that need c-sections more often. Large dogs usually seem to be good free whelpers.

The risk of complications and death is higher in small dogs than larger dogs, especially if they breed with dogs larger than they are. Boston terriers in particular must have C-sections to deliver because of their head shape, but other toy breeds have more risks as well.
