Wow, it is so bad. From the type of sugar to the additives....go to CSPI's website. You can read about it.

Heres the facts:
Caffeine depleats vitamins, which we know is bad for countless reasons
Caffeine is also bad for your complexion, it makes your skin dull.
Soda is fattening, thought I am not sure why, but I do know that people who drink a soda every day gain an extra 15 pounds per year.
So yes, caffeine and soda especially isn't great for you, but I drink coffee almost every day and I have great skin and I am skinny so, I suppose it depends on whether or not you balance out the intake.

I personally think there is more hype than there is truth behind all these speculations

Btw, all the crap about the enamal is whatever. Your enamal is the strongest part of your body, it can stand up to a little bubbly.

Wow what a shocking question! In a short answer YES!!!!

Your question included Coke and Pepsi as the two examples. It also stated with a lot of sugar.. The two would be a lot better for you if they were made from sugar, but they are not.

Not all types of so called natural sweeteners are the same. Nearly all the soda and pop you see on your store shelves have corn syrup as its primary sweetener. This sweetener is directly linked to increased risk of diabetes.

Caffeine has reports of being both good and bad for you. But if your concentrating on how it affects your body concerning the risk of diabetes then stay clear of it.

You might think diabetes is nothing that you need to worry about, but remember this.... It is one of the fastest growing health concerns ever.

Soda really isn't great for you. It is full of chemicals and zero nutrients. As a water provider, the soda's caffeine is a diuretic. That means that it makes you pee a lot - flushing water out of your system before it can do its job of keeping you healthy. Sodas with caffeine in them leech calcium out of the drinkers' bones. Those without caffeine did not cause the same effect.

Caffeine certainly has the ability to cause a variety of reproductive effects in animals, including congenital abnormalities and reproductive failures, reduced fertility, prematurity, and low birth weight. Pregnant women have been advised to restrict caffeine intake by both Canadian and US governments. Pregnant smokers should be especially wary.

It really doesn't have that much of an effect if you don't drink it that often. It's the people who drink it every day who should cut back. Diet sodas are usually worse for you because artificial sweetener is much worse than real sugar. They don't have as much sugar as many other foods; in fact, if you read the nutrition facts, a bag of shortbread cookies is better for you than a bag the same size of dried fruit.

Yes it can. Soda in general dehydarates you. The best thing to drink is water. Good old H2O. Even sports drinks that hydrate you really well, have a ton of sugar in them.
