How debilitating is the condition and how do people get through their life in the sex industry to begin with?

A pornstar or prostitute don't necessarily suffer from PTSD. Many times they suffer from substance abuse, depression, and may have characterlogical issues (sociopathy, borderline personality). Anyway, to answer second part of your question...learning different skills, getting a better support group to get them away from poor influences, learning to wait for things rather than "I want it now!" attitude, and possibly an addiction program to help them get off of drugs and possibly some counseling can all help get them off their current road. Ultimately, its their choice.

I am an ex porn star and I suffer from PTSD. I remember what happened out in LA on those sets. I was only 18 and was lured out into a demonic world of lust and greed. I was a victim or legal sex trafficking at a young age. When you are 18 years old you know right from wrong, but are also easily taken advantage of. I am now 27 and am very damaged from my past and would never let someone violate me like that now. So believe me if someone you know was a victim of pornography they can absolutely suffer from PTSD which is a very serious and sad illness. I can not leave my house for days sometimes. I cry in public and can not hold it in. I cry in front of my six year old son. I am a mess and I am doing my best to be the best i can be and those memories haunt me everyday. It was all public so it doesn t go a way. even tho I am changed people remind me everyday. I want to forget but i am cursed and i Will always be reminded. I am an ex porn star and I absolutely have PTSD.

Most of them stay very, very stoned on many types of drugs...and alcohol..I don't know why you would think that porn stars and prostitutes have PTSD...unless you mean, after they leave the lifestyle...I would think that they really have such low self esteem, and have been sexually abused, and feel that they are good for nothing else in this world...so they get used, and abused, by the money hungy people that con them into the life in the first place...and keep them good and doped up, till they either get a.id.s., or overdose...sad, sad life
