My cat is ALWAYS retching - like it's completely constant. We first thought it was hiccups, but now it's been happening for like a month. She even throws up...like once a day. And it's little, not a huge pile. Just like 5 half chewed pieces of cat food. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with her?

I agree the cat needs a checkup from a professional veteranarian to determine what the problem is. I had 7 cats in my life with some puppies and I know that the problem you are describing is internal and I would take the cat to the vet as soon as possible.

when my cat was 14 she started having strokes, and she would retch a lot, and she vomited almost nothing twice a day for a week. Finally I took her to the vet because I was worried she would get dehydrated, he diagnosed her with a stroke, which I understand is rare in cats.

A growth in the throat?

A sensitive stomach?

A broken tooth?

Something caught in the throat?

A throat injury from a fall?

A vet would be the best qualified to see what's wrong. Is it normal? No. Have it checked. It obviously bothers the cat a lot.

Possibly hairballs, but with that much retching a trip to the vet is in order.
