What does christians have against jews before?

Question

I was watching this movie called "School Ties" and one character was jewish in a high class christian school. I'm really wondering why they despised him. I'm 21, Catholic and I don't really see why they did that. It was so unreasonable. If you can please let me understand. Or do you know any sites that I could read about all that. Thanks.

most jews (religiously speaking) do not believe Christ was the messiah. they do not argue that he existed or that there will be a saviour for the world - just that Jesus Christ was not Him....christians (who base their entire faith on Jesus being the Christ) sometimes find that offensive.

Plus.....movie. Everything would be escalated to make a point.

Many Christians read earlier versions of the Bible to read that the Jews crucified Jesus. This was coupled with the fact that when the Jews were pushed out of Israel they had to find new jobs and ways of living. Many became successful as merchants. Their success was resented. Also the fact that they dressed differently and ate differently made them seem different.

This is why I try to stress that Jesus was not killed by the Romans or the Jews. He was killed by a handful of people in the Jewish and Roman government.

Children in school commonly resent jewish children over simple differances like they eat meat on friday when the catholics are eating fish. Not celibrating Christmas and observing other holidays the Christians think are strange.
Jewish parrents afraid their children will convert fill the childrens heads with anti chrictian stories that make matters worse. The jews are seen as pagens for not being in church sunday morning and the christians are described are rebelious for choosing to disreguard the saboth.

It is all silly stuff but when I was six years old, it was very scarry.

Christians shouldn't have anything against the Jews, unless they have something against Christ who was one himself. And Jesus said no man took his life, so apparently he didn't want people blaming the Jews or the Romans.

In the movie "School Ties" its not about Christians hating Jews, its about anti-semiticism in general, not from any particular religion.

I am always pleased that the youth of the world doesn't understand hate. In truth, we all know that there is hate in the world, but the youth has the luxury of questioning what is behind it. I am always reassured by questions like these, because it means that people are being logical and logic dictates that your hate or love for someone should be solely based on their words or actions, not on there background, race, looks, religion or other external factors.

I think the rivalry centers around the claims of Jesus Christ and the fact that the Jews had him crucified while Christians carry on his teachings today.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jews wrote it. Much as I have nothing against Jews, they do characteristically have a "persecution complex". That's been my observation from my youth. Though it's is true that there is some basis for such a paranoia, such as the holocaust, yet they tend to go overboard with it and imagine persecution where none exists.
