I prefer using the microwave, but the rice usually ends up really hard and dried out. Should I try adding water or something? Thanks!

I put a few drops of water in the bown and throw it into the microwave covered. It's like steaming it again without the rice getting over done.

Add 1 to 3 tablespoons water for each cup of leftover product. Stir gently while cold. Reheat in the microwave oven. Rice can also be reheated over medium low heat in a saucepan on the stove, stirring occasionally.

A rice cooker works best but the microwave will work, too. Yes, you do need to add a teaspoon or so of water or broth for each cup of rice, then use a covered but vented dish (cover with cling wrap with a small slit in it if nothing else). Then heat it on high only until it is hot enough. Overheating it will make it hard and dry too.

I have no prob using microwave without adding water. Alternatively you can put it back in the ricecooker and add a bit of hot water and reheat Better than microwave

I'd say don't bother: throw it away and get some healthy, tasty brown rice. It tastes better and is much healthier. If you must reheat the white rice, I'd put it in a sauce pan, add a small amount of water (just enough so the rice won't burn or stick to the pan), cover and let it sit over low heat until desired temperature is reached. Good luck..........................

You probaby haven't heat it up long enough. My husband and I always bring lunch (rice) to work and it's fine. Do you cover your rice before you put it in the frig? When you leave rice out on the counter or the frig without covering, the rice will be hard and not edible.
