Jr. wasn't fined $100,000. It was only $10,000, plus 25 owners points and 25 drivers points.
Tony Stewart, on the other hand, recieved a $25,000 penalty with the 25 owners and drivers points.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR announced Tuesday that Tony Stewart has been fined $25,000 and penalized 25 Nextel Cup Series driver championship points, as a result of using inappropriate language during a post-race televised interview following his victory Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Stewart, driver of the No. 20 Chevrolet, retains his fifth-place standing in the series points, with his total points reduced to 2,599.
Stewart violated Section 12-4-A of the series rule book (actions detrimental to stock car racing) by using the inappropriate language.
In addition, Stewart's car owner, Joe Gibbs, has been penalized 25 car owner championship points because of the infraction.
Also Jr got the same 25,25,25 for the S. word.
The only difference was Jr.'s came during the chase.

I think you're a little confused. Tony Stewart's penalty was harsher than Jr's.
Tony got fined $25,000, 25 drivers points, and 25 owners points while Jr got fined $10,000 and 25 driver and 25 owners points.

Eric C has the answer correct. Smoke's fine was harsher than Junior's.
The fine your speaking of was for not passing inspection.
As far as Smoke's fine being harsher, do you think it's possible it's because he's already on probation?
Just a thought.

Wow you really mixed things up, that fine and penalty you said was for the wing brackets. What Jr. said was last year, not this year.
From what I hear, the penalty is similar to Jr.'s anyways, I think it's the same if you don't bother counting the money, since that doesn't matter.

the 100k fine and 100 pts was for the "un-approved" wing mount on the COT! Incredibly stupid mistake on Eury's part!
These points deductions mean nothing before the chase so who cares!
Stewart no change at all!
Gordon no change at all!
Johnson currently costs him 2 spots or 10 chase points!
and Junior no change still 12th but would have a nice lead on 13th!
Nascar needs to fix this before next year! Make the deductions from their chase starting points and this stupid stuff wouldn't happen!
