I have been working out for about 9 years and I dress pretty normally. I wonder if I am doing anything wrong or is it that girls are less upfront about it. Thanks for any insight.

I'm straight and yes I do get compliments from girls too. And no, I don't wear anything out of the ordinary. =P

Do you have big muscles? Because guys *think* that having huge muscles looks sexy to girls. (What a misconcepton....) That's why they compliment you. But girls don't really care if you have big muscles or not. Toned is good, anything else is wasted on us.
Just like girls get a lot of compliments from other girls on their new cute hairstyle, but guys don't even notice it. Combed and neat hair is good, everything else is wasted on guys.

Well then it would be way too forward for a girl to approach a guy and say his body looks great. That's like saying "let's have sex". It is still possible for a woman to compliment you, but it has to be suttle, or else better not said at all.

I've had the problem where I'd run into the gay population and they would say," Do you want a massage?" and I'd say,"No thank you." It is a stereotype that you may be muscular you might be gay. Which obviously isn't true by the sound of your question. I guess you have the curse as I call it. You have hyperactive pheromones. All the males in my family tree have the curse but we try to keep it a secret. The other guys in school wondered why we attracted so much attention from the girls but we swore an oath in the family never to tell anyone.

If a guy walks up to you and says "Dude, you look pretty good" you take that as a compliment...

If a girl walks up to you and makes a positive comment about your body, the first thing (maybe second, but probably first) you think about is sex...c'mon, I'm a guy - we can admit it.

Females keep it to themselves because they know guys - and they know that if they walk up and compliment a guy, that they guy takes that as interest...and into the sexual realm.

Personally I get women complimenting me on my butt all the time -(seriously, I actually have one)- and my legs too - and yeah, it doesn't take long before I am wondering what their's look like unclothed.

Most females don't care about all the excess muscles.

But it is the same way with women though. I get women complimenting me all the type on my physique, but rarely from men. You may have a typical physique that is desired by most men.

if you are to over the top muscly then you prob won't get that many compliments from girls because they don't like that. They like toned but not jacked out of their mind.
