I live in Amera-hoochie and I know that this planet has been here longer than the 5-6000 years as the Christians claim. The land of Nod provided a wife for Cain which meant that the Christians claim that Adam and Eve were the first people on this planet is "their" creation myth. The Jews said that the their God started with Adam and Lilith where the starring role of first woman going to Eve after Lilith wanted to rewrite woman's place as being beside her husband and not beneath him. God and science can go hand in hand, but there are some parts that have to be fudged by religions that want to discount anything that doesn't support their creation myth.
The three main religions share a lot of religious information with each claiming theirs is right. I find nothing wrong with each having their own opinion about whose religion is best for them, but I'll be damned if I will let your religion belittle mine because I don't share your beliefs.

No-one knows for sure but 4.5 billion will be much closer to the true figure. I'm British.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say closer to 4.5 billion years.
