The other day I mentioned the idea of a rapture to a devout Catholic and he nearly went berserk. I always find it humorous when people stand on their little soapboxes and scream about how their god is the only god and everyone else is an idiot for thinking differently.

No, it's not funny at all, nor is it a myth.
I don't believe Christians should tell anyone they are going to hell because that is a very cruel statement. Christians are to love and witness to the unbeliever. You can tell someone all day long they are going to hell and most of the time it will not help one bit.
I prefer to tell people how to get to heaven instead of condemning them to hell.
"You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way" (Matthew 7:13). Even if everyone is living a life of sin, and trusting in God is not popular, God will not excuse it. "You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God" (Ephesians 2:2).
God Bless you and I'll be praying for you.

I'm glad you enjoy it so much.
Some folks get highly irritated by it...
You aren't going to hell, you know. You'll just be tossed into the Lake of Fire, where you will become a rapidly disappearing grease spot. You will die "The Second Death"...there won't be any time to worry about whether you'll be resurrected from this one, but, just so you can't say nobody told you...you won't be. This time, your spirit dies...and it's permanent.
The rest of us won't even remember you...
Of course, it doesn't have to be that way...I'd much rather know that you had decided to live forever with us. But, of course, it is your choice.
I can respect that.
I hope you can respect mine.

not only Christians Muslims does that too,
what you think it's funny is only there are people trying to put in the light to see wider than you see now
they are people trying to help you so you can go to heaven
not to hell
may be they are doing that the wrong way but they are true
just try to read and understand their books then you will find the truth

I'm sure the Greek, Norse and Roman mythology peddlers all said the same, and I'm sure they all met the same fate us and the Christians will.

No, I think it's very serious that you think this is funny. All you have to do is read the Bible and you will understand why we "buy into their mythology" or should I say Christ's reality.

What's hilarious is the number of ignorant people who ask such questions. Prove its a myth....nah you're to lazy to put that much energy into such a task, its easier for you to believe in nothing!

Tell any and everyone, that they need to get in touch with their alien parents. For really that is the only true path that one can take. May the universe protect my alien father and mother and hopefully they will return soon!!!

Just make sure you keep laughing, because if you let them stop you, and religionists get to control all government and public opinion again.....you could be *crackling*, not cackling. What I mean is, you'll be fuel on the fire of their ire!
Arf!
