No it is not a lie.
If you think it is a lie then you need to stop listening to political commentators and instead to people who have read Al Quaeda doctrine.

Wow, I sometimes find this propaganda/lie/conspiracy theory to be quite scary. Scary that there are people that actually wholeheartedly believe this.
1) For you to believe there can not be sleeper cells already in our country, then you must also believe that the hijackers were not here for any length of time and perhaps you believe 9/11 to be part of big lie and conspiracy.
2) Do you realize that 12 million illegal immigrants are currently in this country? Do you understand those implications? Do you really believe it is not possible that terrorists (now highly supported by the groups such as Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbullah, PLO etc. and also by countries such as Iran, Syria, Iraq, Venezuala and my own "theory" of Libya) cannot mingle in and cross the borders without notice also??? HMMMM...
GREAT BORDER DEFENSES...yeah, okay...pass that joint when you are done!!
I hope you are right and I am wrong. But, I believe we will have car bombs and things happen like we have never felt before in America.
You can't turn back time...just because we leave, doesn't mean all will be ok...in fact, truly, we haven't had any attacks in US facilities other than in Iraq since 9/11. Prior to 9/11 we had attack on embassies and other American properties over and over. Why did they stop????

They're already here; and a retreat by us would be considered a HUGE victory for them, which would embolden the ones already here as well as the ones living elsewhere in the world. Or have you forgotten that the US is not the only country under threat by terrorism? Or do you only care about yourself and the rest of the world can go to hell? Very neighborly of you... glad to know you've got such a concern for others as well as a sensible amount of foresight as to the consequences of your actions and those of your country. Naivety is no defense against people who want to kill you; and claiming ignorance won't win you sympathy. You'd know this, if you bothered to listen to people who've actually been there and fought there instead of civilian media.

Actually they are already here. There was the plot against Fort Dix that was foiled and the those indviduals who were arrested for planning to bomb JFK.
Just because nothing has happened yet, doesn't mean that they aren't here or plotting the next attack. Additionally, don't believe any of the misinformation and garbage that comes out of the White House. Remember these are the same organizations that had warnings that something like 9/11 was a possibility, yet didn't increase security measures at our nations airports.

There are other things we need to worry about happening if we ever leave Iraq. So......yea, its a lie and Bush is trying to scare us into believing that we will be in danger in our own homes if we do not support his war. He seems to think that if he can somehow tie another 9/11 into a withdrawal from Iraq, he can gain more support for the war. If he can make us think that leaving Iraq will mean an increased risk to us, than he could win more support.
Sucks for him that we are not as dumb as he is doesn't it?

No, it's not a lie. But, it is fudging the issue. The terrorists are already here. We have rounded up several of them in just the past sixty days who were planning on large-scale attacks against our infrastructure and (in one case) a military base. They have already undergone training in a Jihad Madrassa. They have left to go elswhere to carry out jihad. They are counting on the citizens of the U.S. continuing their membership in the Ostrich Society and keeping their heads buried in the sand.
Look around you the next time you are in the parking lot of a shopping center or inside a mall. If the people around you are so clueless now, what makes you think they have any awareness of the threat? The greatest defense is this:
"If you see something, say something!".

Yes it is a lie. It is a tactic used by the Bush administration to scare the American public. Ever since President Bush's approval rating plunged to an all-time low of 29%, he now always speak of Al Qaeda countless of times on his speeches. Compare this to what he said right after the US invasion of Afghanistan way back in 2001: "Al Qaeda's gone. To me, they don't concern me at all".
In Iraq, Al Qaeda accounts for only one-fifth of the overall violence. Most of the violence is caused by the other 11 major Iraqi militant insurgent groups, of which the Sunnis' and the Shias' are the largest factions. But Bush is always quick to put the blame on Al Qaeda whenever a surge in violence occurs, when in fact most of those suicide bombings were perpetrated by the Sunnis and Shia militants. In this, Bush continue to mislead the American people into believing that Al Qaeda is the number one enemy in Iraq, that Al Qaeda poses the greatest threat to the peace and stability of Iraq. This strategy wouldn't end the sectarian conflict, if you're going after the wrong group, instead of going after those who are the root cause of the sectarian violence.
Al Qaeda is a global terrorist group. It has terror cells and sympathizers in almost every nation (UK, France, Italy, Spain, Africa, Pakistan, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, etc). For all we know, there could already be sleeper cells within the US itself, biding their time and patiently planning their terror acts quietly in secret. Iraq is only one training ground for these terrorists, a place where they have the opportunity to taste real battle first-hand, and to test and further their terrorist skills (the fact that suicide bombings and roadside bombs has started to become prevalent in Afghanistan nowadays and is also spreading to Pakistan as well, can be attributed to the terrorist skills that were learned from Iraq. NATO troops had never encountered such kind of attacks before).
Therefore, to say that the terrorists will come to America if the US troops pulled-out of Iraq, as Bush claims it is, doesn't convince me at all. It's just a ploy used by the White House to enable itself to continue blocking any Congressional proposal for US troop withdrawals.
The real fact of the matter, although Bush doesn't admit it is that the whole Iraqi invasion was a mistake, for it resulted in Iran becoming the remaining dominant power in that region (now that Iraq is already very weak militarily). Pulling-out the US troops from Iraq will increase the Iranian influence within Iraq itself and the surrounding region. A stronger Iran is what Bush and his planners failed to foresee and consider before they made the decision to invade Iraq (in addition to the sectarian conflict happening now, which they failed to foresee also). By this reasoning, Iran is the real reason why Bush wanted to keep US troops in Iraq, and not the threat from Al Qaeda as what Bush constantly says in his rhetorics. For if Al Qaeda is the real threat, then the US troops should have been in Afghanistan in the first place, and not in Iraq (the Al Qaeda top leaderhip are hiding in the remote caves and mountains of Afghanistan).

If the person saying this believes it it isn't a lie to them but I view it as a scare tactic more than a truth. If the people in Iraq had the ability to come here and do terrorist acts why wouldn't they be doing it now?

Heck we have so many troops in Iraq, what is left to defend America!!
They are already here. They are just in waiting!! There have been reports that the suspicious packages at airports, etc. is just a test. They are observing how we handle such events. And I must admit, these people are smart!!

it's the bush bark.
In fact the "terrorists" came before US went to Iraq. Oops those guys were from Saudi, to which we are about to send more weapons....
For sure in the future the "terrorists" will come, as US now grants refugee visas to Iraqis, hard to say every one of them loves US heart to soul after their relatives were killed....
