No. That is a job that many citizens would gladly do. Some would even volunteer their time for free. Besides, it's against the law to hire illegals. If we're going to build a fence we need to enforce our laws as well.

No. An American contractor(s) should get that job and the pay. I believe the border to Mexico and Canada should be controled by the military. Construct a real wall with real guard towers with real soldiers and weapons. If not the military then hire one of the many security firms in the US to control the border, but they would have to do very good background checks. We probably spend enough to accomplish these idea in a few months in Iraq. I would actually support this expense.

Considering that just about every construction firm in the US hires some number of illegals, due to the difficulty in finding Americans to do such work even with good pay, it's going to be very difficult to build it. Of course an American contractor would get the job, but then who he hires is more difficult to control.
