hmm, has anyone ever wondered why women don't go out and buy the condoms? The majority of my girlfriends leave it to their men to buy the goods...

Is it really a guys job? Should we be a little more pro-active and buy them too?

What's your opinion? Do you think it's a guys job to get them or (if your a woman) are you one of those gals that totes them?

Just curious...

I think it is a very smart idea for women to carry around condoms in their purse, wallet, or pocket. This way the man can never have an excuse of he forgot the condom. Also this give women the control of their prefrence in condom and they will always know if the condom is reliable (like when they experation date on the condom is). Most clinics give them out free anyway so women dont have to buy them if they dont want to (I know everytime I go to the gynocologist they give me tons of them for free and tell me to come back if I need anymore before my next appointment.)

I learned from my female family memebers that you should always be prepared for anything and a purse is like an emergency kit for women. I always carry atleast two condoms with me in my purse and just as a precaution two spremicide films (and always change them out every month because of any damage that may have been caused to them by staying in my purse).

I think it doesn't matter, it just depends on who wants it more.. ha! The person who wants it badly should go get it. I think it has nothing to do with it being a job for a guy. Although I know that most girls feel uncomfortable buying condoms. Its like guys going to buy pads for their girlfriends.. Its one of those embarrassing moments.

Since I am a married woman, I don't have to worry about that kind of thing anymore, but IF I were single and sexually active, I would definitely be prepared. I think that both parties should be responsible. If the girl wants to be protected against pregnancy and STD's then she should make sure that she has them available. Guys too. But I think that it would be much easier for the girl to just tuck one in her bag. Just to be safe.

I think women feel like if they carry them they look "easy" ( or whatever the word is these days ).

Personally, I'd say if a woman wants to protect her future, she should certainly buy and keep handy condoms. Let's face it, when all is said and done, she's really the one who pays the price if they don't get used !

Ultimately, seems to be in the woman's best interest to stock these. They'll know that if there are none available, and things start happening, the chance of stopping because there isn't a condom is slim. Also, if the woman stocks them, she knows that it hasn't been sitting in a hot car, or folded in a wallet for days on end, and the chance of failure is less for them being in her undies drawer.

I think it's both parties envolved my girl will buy them just as quick as I will. If condom use is an issue I think it's on both people to make sure that condoms are around and being used because it takes two to get pregnant not one!

I always kept them with me..I sew pretty good, so I would always sew a little hidden pocket in my purse and keep 1 or two there. I especially did so, because I'm allergic to Latex, and majority of people only have Latex condoms. It's our responsibility to protect ourselves....having condoms doesn't make a woman promiscuous, it makes her smart.

It is both the girls and guys job. It may go on the guy but if the girl wants it as much as the guy then why not have one handy to use? It is the girl that ends up pregnant. Beside both should be aware of what they can catch if they don't use one.

Protection is everyone's responsibility. If you're ready to share sex with a man, your should be ready to share responsibility with him, too.
Dollar-wise, I think it's fair that men buy the condoms and women buy the birth control, so that you both have double protection from unwanted consequences.

its just generally accepted that the guy gets the condom since he is the one who puts it on. if a woman bought one, there wouldn't be anything wrong with it. It would actually promote safer sex because she would be the one to get a potent one instead of one that some guy kept in the back seat of his car for a couple of months
