Muslims believe in God, the Supreme Being, Creator of the Worlds and all within it. His Arabic name is Allah (means The God). Islam require is to believe that there is only one God, and there is no other god. So there is no such thing called God of Muslims, God of Christians, God of Hindus etc. Only one God exist.

So as long as you believe in a Supreme Being that create this universe, regardless on how you perceive him and how you call him (God, Allah, Yahweh, Ahura Mazda etc), then we believe in the same Being. They may be thousands of versions of God (with son, without son, with many children, He is sun, He is moon etc) but it won't make God to be more than one. It simply mean only one version of God is correct.

motpicvideo,
If you believe that there is only one Joe in the universe, and no other Joe, don't you think that you and SE are talking about the same Joe? It's only that you thought Joe has a son, and SE thought Joe has no son, but that doesn't mean it's different Joe.

Me: "Hey, do you know Joe?"

Someone else: "Yeah, I know Joe."

Me: "Did you hear about his son's death?"

SE: "Joe doesn't have a son."

Me: "Uh, yes he does."

SE: "Joe? The blond kid around the corner?"

Me: "Oh -- no, Joe, the old man across the street."

***

Clearly the people in the above conversation are talking about two different "Joes". So why people think Allah and Jehovah are the same being is a mystery. The differences between Jehovah and Allah are so polar that it is impossible for them to be the same being!

The most obvious difference: According to the Bible, Jehovah has a son. According to the Koran, Allah has no son.

It is a myth, an all-too-common one, that "Allah" is just Arabic for "Jehovah." They are two entirely different deities! Allah was one of HUNDREDS of idols when Muhammed selected Allah to be the "one true god" and destroyed all the other idols.

Jesus is alive in heaven, Muhammed is dead and buried.

So, short answer: No, I do not for a moment believe I worship the same God as Muslims do.

Not the same:

Christian: God chose Issac - son of Abraham
Muslim: Allah chose Ishmael (half brother of Issac)

Christian: Jesus arose from the grave and is the Son of God
- of the Triune God.
Muslim: Jesus did not physically die and God is not a
Triune being.

Christian: God will bring about "the end"
Muslim: Muslims will help bring about "the end"

Christian: Salvation is a free, unnlimited gift - just accept
Muslim: Salvation - everyone's work will be measured on
a scale and perhaps pardoned, perhaps not.

That is my understanding of the main differences.

I know the God that I worship and follow. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Do the Muslims claim this same God? They need to answer for themselves.

As a Christian, there is no doubt in my mind that I worship the same God as the Muslims.

I am a Christian and the Allah of Islam is not the God that we worship. The reasons are too numerous to mention but Allah disagrees with God the word of God and the prophets of God. He disagrees with the order and principles of God. The way a prophet of God is announced the was we receive revelation the idea of salvation....

Different God totally....

Christian .... salvation by grace

Muslim ... salvation by works

As with Christians, the works for salvation have been done by Christ Jesus, so if you except Christ as your Lord and Savior then you have salvation..
With Muslims ,( if I am correct ) they have to follow certain followings, prayers, and pilgrimages to hopefully have favor from Allah. But their salvation is only certain if Allah wills it.

The only thing that is the same is that both follow some books that are found in the bible. And they claim a link to Abraham.

There are several things to address here.

Muslims worship the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.
Christians claim they do also, but most of them also worship Jesus whom they say is God as well. So, if a Christian asks me if I worship the same God, I will ask him, "Who do you worship?" If he tells me, "Jesus." I, will say, "No, we do not worship the same God," but if he tells me," the Creator", I will say, "We worship the same God."

Now, that is not to say that we have the same conception of God in all aspects, but the Creator is the Creator and I can't say the Christian's Creator is a different one than mine, nor can he rightly say that my Creator is different from his. So if I say I worship the Creator and he says he worships the Creator, we have to agree that it is the same being.

Nope. At Jesus' Baptism, the Father said, 'This is My Only Begotten Son. Hear Him.
But according to Mohammed, God does not beget, nor is he begotten.
Clearly, they cannot be the same Person.
