what about a birdy bread type recipe?

Birdie Bread: small batch
2 eggs- including shells ground up
1/2 cup-cottage cheese
1cup- milk (can be powedered) *
1/4 cup- Corn oil
1/2 Teaspoon Sea salt

Add anything additional that your bird likes. Oatmeal, carrots, apples, dates, crushed pellets, bannas, raisins etc.

Mixture should be the consistency of Corn Bread. Bake in a flat, lightly greased pan at 425 for 25minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Quick Birdie Bread:

Mix: 6 eggs-with crushed shell
1 1/2 cups milk*
1/2-1 cup Corn oil
2 cups- cottage cheese
ADD:
3 boxes Jiffy cornbread mix
1 1/2 cups oatmeal

Pour in a slightly greased pan and back for 50 mintues @ 350 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean.

* I sometimes substitute either 100% canned pumpkin or applesauce for the milk. It may be neccessary to add a little milk or water to get the right consistency.

** Alan if you like I also have a mash recipe that's quite good for all birds and was given to me by my ekkie breeder. How old will your amazon be?!? :)

A nice yellow cake will be fine, although ordinary frosting has WAY too much sugar and fat to be healthy for your bird. Whipped cream would be much better for the topping, and is usually loved by birds.
If he has any fruit he is fond of, try cutting some up into small pieces and sprinkling them over the whipped topping.

Of course , no candles . No reason to risk him getting burned.

In addition you can take some of his favorite seeds, fruits or nuts and roll them up inside a square of unscented bathroom tissue or paper towel. Just twist the ends closed and give it to him as a "Bird-day gift!" He will love shredding the paper , and then will get the surprises inside !! A healthy and happy gift for his celebration!

Fresh lukewarm fruit juice will make a perfect end to his "Bird-day" feast . Give it to him in a small cup or a plastic jar lid.

Happy Bird-day !!!!!

Chopped vegetables (raw or frozen and thawed) dried fruits or fresh fruits chopped small, berries if you have them, chopped almonds or cashews, soaked and drained.

You could mash some berries and spread them on top if you want to.

Think avian health foods, then add them.
No sugar though.

Also could bake birdie bread in a round baking pan and decorate that that.* Add same as above.

I know my Double Yellow Head Sammy would help your's eat this! LOL

* If you feed avi cakes, crumble two and add to the top.

Yeah, the Jiffy corn bread or corn muffin mix makes a great cake for birds! You can add all kinds of stuff for him to find--pellets, vegies, seeds. They love it and it's also a good way to get them to try new foods!

Instead of baking a cake maybe you could make a seed patty. They sell them at petsmart. It's a bunch of seeds held together by honey.

Well who is going to eat it?
If it is for the bird who will eat it,it will probably die because birds don't eat cakes. But If you eat it,put lots of sprinkles on it and let your bird out of its cage to celebrate. It could PARTAY!!
Good Luck:)
