FIRST, DO NOT USE PROACTIV....
I've tried it, yes I followed instructions, gave it ample time to work, and it didn't. And to top things off after I stopped using the product my face got twice as bad as it was b4 I even tried Proactiv. SO NO DO NOT USE IT!

Aveno and Dove can irrate your skin, that's why it's probably making it worse.

I have SUPER sensetive skin, and a lot of face cleanser's will dry out my face, or make it oilyer than what it was b4 I washed it.

The best products I have found are Cetephil (not sure on the spelling) It's sold at Walmart, cost a tad more than most face cleanser's.

Noxema is really good to my skin as well. I get a really good fresh clean face, nothing to dry, to oily, etc.

GOODLUCK

1) Sounds like you have acne.

2) I don't recommend Proactiv because it's main ingredient is benzoyl peroxide which can dry out medium & dark skin making it look ashy.

3) Try Aveeno Positively Clear Daily Face pads w/ salicylic acid or Neutrogena's products w/ salicylic acid.

4) If over the counter products don't help, then ask your mom to take you to a dermatologist. Sometimes, acne can leave marks so you want to get it under control.

5) Some resources FYI: http://www.kidshealth.org/Search01.jsp

aveno and dove are not really meant for acne treatment which are pimples and zits, do yes you do have acne, but it can be mild, moderate or severe.
Mild means a couple zits here and there
Moderate means more than 7-10 zits at a time
Severe means more than 12 zits on your face at once

Based on that should answer if you need proactiv or not
I get the one occassional zit like every couple weeks and I use Neutrogena Stress free products and astringent
If you have Mild acne use a neutrogena acne wash/scrub or a product for acne by Biore, Clearsil, or Clean and Clear
If you have moderate use similar products but use them more often and possibly use astringent mid day
If you have sever acne then you should get proactiv

The products you are using, are they salycic acid or benzolyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Almost all washes have it. They try finding a face lotion with it in it. Clean and clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face. I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working!
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salysic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying fo rme! Good luck!

Blackheads, whiteheads, etc. are all considered acne. You have mild to moderate acne. Try to find products labeled "non-comedogenic" (won't clog pores), and oil-free. Look for blackhead-removing scrubs, face washes, etc. Clean & Clear makes a good line. Keep in mind it takes time to treat acne.. give any regimen at least a month. Acne will get worse before it gets better sometimes. There is nothing to be ashamed of to ask your mom to try Proactiv. Keep in mind it isn't a miracle cure, tho. Works for some, not others.

First, how old are you? You are probably going through that phase.

Second, if the products you are using are making it worse-STOP.

You should try steaming you face 1-2 times a weeks and cleasning your face with a super sensitive face wash.

Since you are mixed I would highly recommend Black Soap (you can get it at any black beauty suply store) and cocoa butter

If your acne's that bad your mom should get you proactive...my little sis had really bad acne and the Dr. put her on birth control and it has really helped her (not positive what the name if it was...but your Dr. should know).

Don't be afraid to ask your mom. She will be able to help you. My mom took me to see a dermatologist (even though I don't have bad acne. There are a lot of different treatments that the dermatologist can give you.
