Yes, I have had success with my workings. I also had a lot of disappointments for a long time. Contrary to what books might have promised you, we're talking about a craft, and crafts take practice to get good at it. It's not just about following the recipe in a spellbook. You need to understand how those pieces work together (or write your own spells, which many of us find more useful). Some personal suggestions (your mileage my vary):

You MUST believe it will work. Trying just to see if it will work...won't.

Focus on the ultimate goal.

Phrase your goals with the assumption that things will work. For example "I will get a well-paying job." NOT "I want a well paying job." (Because then the focus is on your want instead of actually getting it!)

"Forget" the spell. This may sound silly (it did to me), but is the single most helpful practice I've adopted. As soon as you are done, stop thinking about it: read a book, watch TV, go out with friends, sing, do something to keep your mind off it.

Finally, the fact is you frequently will not be able to say "hey, my spell worked." MAgic does not run contrary to the laws of physics. If you work for a spell for a good job but don't send out any resumes, a job isn't going to land in your lap. What this means is you may start wondering "was it my resume or was it my spell?" that got this job? The answer can easily be both. Magic is an addition to more mundane methods, but it rarely can take the place of mundane actions.

Which means (for all the doubters who have already posted here) no, I can't convince you it's real. I can't tell you a story that will win you over, and I feel no need to. The results of magic are generally pretty boring.

Yes, it works!...but like anything else in life it comes by trial and error, requiring patience, practice, persistence, and time. I am a solitary who is self-taught, using books for basic guidelines, and then trusting and following my gut instincts and my heart. You must KNOW that your magic will work, allowing no room for doubt--which is not an easy thing to re-train your mind to do. Meditation and visualizing exercises are of great value to instilling self-confidence, and to help achieve that altered state of consciousness that is necessary when working between the worlds. I always visualize my goal as already having happened--in present tense, as opposed to a 'future' time. I've had better results since tweaking my focus in that manner...along with 'winging it' through my rituals--letting my words flow freely and naturally from the heart, rather than being preoccupied with some elaborate plan that may/may not be 'perfect'. Too distracting! I've also come to the realization that the only tool I need is myself. Athames, wands, etc. were helpful props when I was starting out...now I just use my power hand and gestures in their place (again, fewer 'distractions' works best for ME!)..Depending on what it is I want/need to accomplish, my spells usually come to fruition anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Alot of good advice has been offered here, though there is no 'one right way' for everyone when it comes to spellcasting--look within yourself, going with what feels right for YOU, and discarding what doesn't. Above all, have faith in yourself--where there's a Witch, there's a way!

Bright Blessings

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish (you didn't elaborate). If you are trying to produce some sort of miracle, no, it isn't going to happen. My magick works most of the time, anyone who has a 100% success rate is not being totally honest. For a spell to work you have to put a consious effort into achieving your goals. it doesn't just happen. If you are trying to affect someone else the Goddess (or God) may not look favorably on it and won't help.
Also, in the first few years don't expect too much. Work on small stuff. As little things work your confidence will be bolstered and that can make a difference as well.

I'm not a Wiccan, but I do ritual, and yes it does work for me. All I can think of to suggest to you is that you can't just go through the motions, your belief and will are necessary. If you want to collapse a specific wave-form into reality, you must be the observer of that wave-form. If you are actually sincere, and not a troll, leave an addition to this message and I'll email you. I don't like to post alot of detail here because most of these idiots would just laugh anyway. Or if you just want a reading suggestion, read Taking The Quantum Leap by Fred Alan Wolf.

When your intent is real and you have knowledge, your spell will work. You must put forth your energy into the universe and it will go out and do your bidding. But there is so much more to it. It must be personal, focused and real. Of course you just cant counjure up money and poof its there. But spells can work with effort, time and knowledge. Patience. Study your Craft. Concentrate. I prefer to write my own-ad lib-but there are exercises you can do to prepare your mind to focus on meditating. Dorothy Morrison has a good book that help guide you "The Craft , A Witch's Book of Shadow's" In it she has exercises that help you with imagery and meditation. Things like that might help you. I wish you luck in your quest.

OK, If you truely believe in the wicca credo, and the spell is done correctly, then yes, it will work. My wife and I are solitaries, and as merely humans, are not perfect in what we do. If you e mail us, I can relate a true story of a protection and release ritual, and spell that I did for a young man, that worked, to my utter amazement.

I find that most spells work, in some form. 1st, be specific, are you being too general in what you want? Also, some have better luck with candle magick, others with knot magick, and yet others with herbal magick. There are many ways to do the same spell, it's all about the FOCUS. If you aren't focused fully, the magick doesn't have as much energy.

I'm not Wiccan, but I do practice Magick. Before I started practicing, I studied ALOT to determine which method would be best for me and how to get it just right. I'm sure you know that Magick is actually the "tipping point" of things. I've always done everything I could to get my desired results, then used magick to tip the scales when needed.

My magick does work for me, I've been very pleased with my abilities to work magick. Maybe you need to work out a different method of Magick - there are many!

I am not a witch, but I practice the Americna Folk art of Hoodoo. And yes, the spells work. In Hoodoo, the very nature of the ingredients make what you want to happen, happen. Each plant, root, rock, etc has an energy of it's own, and if tapped into properly, you can reap the rewards.

I'm a witch, but not a Wiccan.

My spells have worked marvelously for me, but I am very selective about what I use and when. I also use only very personal symbols, never anything out of a book, nor have I ever used anyone else's spell. All home-brewed (pun intended). When I cast I am very clear on what I want to accomplish and how it is to be done.
