I know a few people who are into these series and go to Sci-Fi conventions like ComiCon or BayCon, and a lot of their conversations revolve around this stuff. I don't think I could for t his reason.

there is a difference from being a fan and a fanatic.

I like that stuff too, but I don't even talk to people who take it that serious, they actually take all the fun out of that stuff.

I don't think I could, either. Unless I was as well. That's just a bit too obsessive. Sure, my boyfriend is a huge nerd...and goes to a Lego club...don't ask...but at least I'm not involved with that and it's not an obsession. Yeah, the conversation thing too. I know nothing about Star Trek/Wars. I don't care one way or another about them.

I would date a Star Wars girl who would enjoy conversations about Star Wars topics and whatnot. And nothing wrong with a little bit of fanaticism. Just as long as it won't get in the way of the relationship itself. But even then, Star Wars, it will have its place in the relationship. A lot of good comes from it. Because the Force is a beautiful thing; so is love. Hah!

I fall under the category of a "Star Wars nerd." Yet, unless you've known me for quite a while, you'd never know. Not all fans are absolute fanatics.

Would I date that flavor of nerd? Yes. I'd love to have someone who'd like to talk about Star Wars.

i have before, but i made it clear (seriously, but in a joking manor) that i didnt really like star trek that much, so we didnt talk about it much at all. i did get him a star trek calender, just to show that i respected his likes and dislikes, but didnt share that one with him.

If they had other interests as well, perhaps. If they were obsessed with the shows, costumes, language, etc that would be too much for me.
