The ones that use RF technology work just fine.

no, the power-lines have a lot of noise, unless they use x-military technology to compensate for the noise, you can't send a regular signal through. and even with the new technology, it can't handle the amount of data in a normal conversation. One of those cheap adapters definitely won't work.
