You can search many such free DVD Ripper on Yahoo or Google as you like.
Usually, cheap one is the poor one. I recommend you to try Daniusoft DVD Ripper which a friend told me. It could help you convert any DVD to all popular video formats as: MP4, AVI, WMV... with only three steps. Also let you set the movie effects, Crop/ Trim video.

If they are commercial DVD's then they are mostly likely copyright protected, which means they are encrypted and can not be copied. The only way to rip then on to your hard drive is to use an decryption program, which is illegal.

use these 2 programs in combination. Anydvd - free trial - lets your computer copy dvd video... handbrake - freeware - program that lets you copy a dvd or a dvd chapter to a file type of your choice
