When i was a senior in high school, i tried to get into the navy on early enlistment, so that i go to basic after high school. I wanted to be a Navy SEAL. But when i got to meps i found out that the hearing problem that i had in one ear is to bad to get into the SEALs, they said i could POSSIBLY get into the Navy but no chance of SEALs. So i let it go. I have recently developed an INTENSE interest in trying to get into Marine RECON. So my question is... Do you think there is a chance i could get into Marine RECON if i really show interest and motivation. I know they are having trouble getting recruits right now so i thought taht maybe that might be a helping factor. I know that i have a hearing problem in one ear, but i hear fine. And my vision is also like 20/400 but that is corectible right? thanx everyone. This is something i want to do more then anything!

Anything in Special Forces, a very long shot if not impossible. rules are quite strict since they're heavily investing in soldiers

When I served you had to have uncorrected 20/20 vision for any special forces. You can't be wearing a pair of BC's (military issue glasses, named BC for birth control because they are so dorkey looking you will never get laid) and take a chance on loosing them during an op, nor can you wear contacts (sand in eye, distraction = you and your team dead)

Laser surgery may correct the vision but, the hearing thing is a problem as well.

The Marine Corps is a Division of the Navy, so the same rules and standards will apply! Sorry!

your question is like "i really want to learn to play baseball, how do i get signed by the ny yankees?"if youre not already in the service, stop all this special forces nonsense and just join up if you can, forget wirdo seals and recon units, theyre just public relations outfits anyway

the same physical requirements still exist. your vision is too poor to get a waiver, even with corrective lenses.
