Informed Christians do. Those who don't are more likely to fall away.

I was brought up Catholic. There's nothing like a Catholic upbringing to make you question God.
The last straw was when they changed the 'eating meat on Friday' from a mortal sin(which is a sin that would cause you to go straight to hell if you died before confessing to a priest), to no sin at all.
That'll hurt your head to think about. I mean what, does God go down to hell and say, "Good news people, the Pope has given you a pardon. (read this part in my best Price Is Right tone please) Come on up!"
Then one day, I was looking on the internet to see if Easter was derived from pagan ritual (it is by the way), and God opened my eyes to the truth. I was just killing time, God was just killing my old nature. Ooooo dat hurtz. I'm quite grateful for it, however. Even though to this day that old nature tries to rise up, and it must be crucified daily.
So enough babbling, and telling you all my personal stuff and everything.
For me, the answer is no.
I expect others may think so, that they have some kind of birthright to Jesus, because they were born Christian. In reality, we're born dead, and like Lazarus our dead rotting corpse must be called forth by God, unto life.
I'm telling you, I just can't shut up. Well, you got me started ;-)
Even the Amish have a saying, 'Not all saved people are Amish, and not all Amish people are saved."

Both. In my case, my parents raised me in church and I believed what I believed because I had grown up with it. But now, I'm reading and learning on my own and my beliefs differ from my parents' in a lot of ways. This is not the case for everyone though. Some find their beliefs on their own, others believe what they were taught and never move from it, ever, for any reason. It's like this with everything I'd guess

We have to research every little detail before we can believe anything.
I mean, there are kids at school still arguing about whether the world is flat.
What do you think?

There are over 30,000 sects of Christianity in the world. They are separate because they believe different things.
I am Catholic. Within the Catholic Church there is plenty of discussion and different ideas.
In the 4th century, as Christianity was spreading, Church leaders met in the Council of Nicaea and formulated the Nicene Creed.
It is a creed of the basic Christian Faith.
In Catholic Mass, we still recite this creed as our faith.

I answered a similar question, so let me give you a similar answer.
I grew up in a home in which the very name of Jesus was considered a curse (I don't mean swearing using the name "Jesus", but rather, the NAME was a curse). I was taught that Jesus was a liar, a deceiver, and probably a lunatic as well.
It was only after I actually MET Jesus that I had to change my opinion. (Personal opinion has never been able to change reality).
He changed my life, forgave me for all my sins, gave me a new heart, and gave me a REAL reason for living.
So, the short answer to your question is "no" I don't believe just because my parents passed it on to me. I believe because I have discovered the Truth about Jesus. Since then, I HAVE researched, only to discover that the Truths about Jesus truly ARE the basis for all reality, after all, and not just a matter of "blind faith".

My parents have been teaching me and my siblings about our Christian faith for as long as i can remember. They take us to church every Sunday, where we learn even more. From what we learn, we can make our own decisions. It cannot be passed down through the generations. It is something where you have to make your own decision, you have to make your own choice; whether you believe what you've been taught or not.
Your parents can help you make your decision, but they can't make it for you. Some people do their own research if they're really into what they believe, but most people that I know, including myself, do not.

Depends on the person. I'd say it's half and half. However, almost ALL of the Christians I know were not raised in Christian homes, became Christians in their 20s, and researched extensively before converting.

I think it depends on the Christian, I do a form of bible study each day, some people do not do this though. Like anything people belive in there will be some that understand by study, some because there heart says so, and some because it is all they know. I think it would be hard to say all of such in such group is like this or that. Unless it is in broad terms like Atheist do not believe in GOd. But to say they all know why they don't, well that is different, it depends on the person.

I would suppose some parents would pass it on to their children with no questsions asked such as my mother, but I have done my research and my beliefs vary greatly from hers, and yet I consider myself christian. I took the thoughts and beliefs she taught me, and altered them to fit my life and research.

Any real Christians I know are very knowledgeable about Christianity and other religions, but that's not what made them who they are. It's a personal relationship with God, an encounter, that changed them. A lot of Christians grew up atheists, but then found real life in Christ. Then there are people who call themselves Christians, but they're only surface deep.
I was fortunate to grow up in a somewhat Christian home, but I made my own decisions to follow Christ. Faith instilled by others is not true faith.
Peace
