You could use the international "Sorry" signal, or you could just make a gun with your hand and put it to your head.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! being a white van man i'm forever making "wrong" moves. I usually put my hand over my mouth, then give a cheeky grin and mouth the word "sorry"

A bag of sweets is useful for calming angry drivers

Out here in traffic city-we shrug and lift both hands as if in atonement. There's a nasty facial feature that goes along with it that's hard to put into words.

yea you make eye contact with the person if possible and do a wave. they get the point

I personally just stick my hand out the window and it seems to get the point across.
