It depends on how long the date is. If its a 4ish hour date, try to ask about it halfway through.
Or sometimes, it's better to bring it up right away, to just get it out in the open.

Before the date starts...when you ask for the date: "How about we go get some chicken, maybe some sex, see what happens?"

It is proper courtesy to agree on when to copulate when meeting for the date, so that all other activities may be planned around it to allow for sufficient time.
