The corpora quadrigemina is the four colliculi located on the dorsal aspect of the midbrain. In simpler terms, corpora quadrigemina is two pairs of lobes extending from the dorsal surface of the midbrain.The anterior pair are optic centres (for vision) and the posterior pair are auditory centres (for hearing).

Corpora quadrigemina is derived from Latin word which means "quadruplet bodies".
