The way my mother would rid them from our gardens would be to leave orange peal skin around the place - the citrus taste and smell would disgust them and they would leave. This doesn't always work...

another way, is that if you're ever in the company of the cat, to spill water over them, they cannot stand the shock of feeling water thrown over them (detesting water by nature) and immeadiatey scram and will rarely ever return to the place again, if ever.

I have alot of cats. I also have alot of strays that like to come to my yard. I tell my neighbors if my cats are in their yard to please everytime they see them in their yard to spray them with the water hose or a squirt gun and send them home. All of mine are fixed but will go to adjoining yards to investigete or hunt. Cats are curious by nature, but water will take some of that away and send him home! If he is spraying, he is probably not fixed, though some do still spray after being neutered. Tell your neighbor, most "cat people" would want to know and will try to remedy the problem. And tell the cat NO with a bit of fresh water. It won't hurt him, but after a few times, he'll realize your spray is more effective than his!!!

You need a spray called Boundary. You will need to apply it every day until the cats realize the smell won't go away.

If you can't bring in the toys, at least put them in one area that you can put mothballs around. Cats hate the smell of those.
