Everything you see on your computer is stored on the hard disk in some way. Just choose whatever you want and hit the delete key it either gets completely deleted immediately or it gets sent to the recycle bin. There you can just empty the bin to kill it. And if you mean delete files from the hard disk as in super delete. There are programs out there to help you delete the file and what I like to call "ghosts" of the file or the file's remnants that can be viewed or ressurected in some way. These remnants take up a minute quantity of memory so they're negligible.

you can not really delete files from your hard disk. You may be able to write over them to a degree but depending who is looking they may have the tools to find them. Many companies shred the hard discs if they have confidential information.

If it is a simple document then just right click on it (PC) and click delete. If it is a program of some kind then go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > then find the program and remove it.

If it is a (Mac) thats a horse of a different color. I use to know that to, but I forget now.

Just go to your control panel and go to uninstall/change. You could also go into the C drive and go to program files and find the program and delete the folder. Only go into program files after you uninstall the program using the control panel because it should be gone after you do that.

if you want them to be unrecoverable then Shift+del them,
also, files that are deleted regularly are not actually deleted but wait to be over-written.
