I downloaded my torrent from www.torrentspy.com and opened it in bitcomet but the download doesn't appear on the list. if i mouse over the bitcomet icon on the start menu it says like 24 KB/s and then like 26 KB/s and so on...but it doesn't say the percent that's completed!

Go to the top bar of the center field and right-click. You will see a list of certain options to display, like %, share ratio, filename, etc. Also, it does not display percentage in the system tray, but it will in a little floating window that can be enabled under the view menu. All you do is hold your mouse over the floating window, and it will give you a percentage.

I recommend using uTorrent for downloading your files. There are no ads and no spyware, also it is simple to use and a nice clean interface.
