conversion.... what else.....

Their purpose is to try to convert you to Mormonism and join their church, which is actually a devil-worshiping cult, but the Mormon missionaries have NO CLUE about this--atrocities go on only at the highest levels of the Mormon church. They also want your money to enrich their church. I'd say the Mormons are the second-largest and second-wealthiest church group in the world, and also among the most evil.

If you are talking about missionaries knocking at your door -- they have several agendas.

1. to make an appointment to teach the basic Doctrine of Jesus Christ found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Or to teach 1 of the lessons immediately

1a. To make appointments and teach the rest of the lessons (approx six lessons)

2. To ask you to receive a Book of Mormon (no charge) and read and pray about it. They will also ask you to read several other scriptures in the Bible

3. To ask you commit to be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins by God's authorized ministers found in the LDS church.

4. To ask you to accept full fellowship in the church lead by Jesus Christ though His called Apostles and Prophet.

That is what they want to bring you -- that is their agenda

They are asked to do many service projects (free of charge) so if you ask for help moving heavy stuff or gardening etc. they will likely help you ( a side agenda )

Well, when I call my non-Mormon friends at home it's usually to see if they are home so that I can chat...I have a Catholic "dishes buddy". (We chat and I do dishes!) I also call to see if their kids are available for a play date with my kids. Very seldom do I discuss religion over the telephone, unless they ask.

If they are Total Strangers: They are commissioned to convert your sorry soul to the One True Church.

If they are Neighbors: They are commissioned to convert your sorry soul to the One True Church and will refer you to the above. Or maybe borrow your Jello boxes.

If it's from the Ward Clerk: He would like to know when it would be a convenient time to have the Home Teachers come over, who are commissioned to jumpstart your sorry soul to the One True Church.

Those who are seeking spirtual help will find it.

If you invite them, they will have discussions (2 way conversation) about God's Plan of Happiness, the Restoration of the Gospel and about Jesus Christ. They will invite you to attend Church. If you are not interested, that's OK.

they believe, like most christians, that their way is the only way to god, and in that spirit seek to convert you. no aggenda, at least from the young men that are visiting you. from their leaders....who knows? don't seek to condemn them for being faithful with their dogma, if you're going to be vehemently devoted to your own dogma.
