There is a peace available for ALL that surpasses ALL understanding.
"In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6,7

LC,
"Men (women) of the world want for all things and above all things to please their own lusts, something that can never be satisfied. This desire never dies so they are never happy."
You are SO right, brother.
If only smirk could learn this lesson......perhaps salvage a "lady' out of her.....for somebody.

Such disbelievers are blasphemers against God with an uppishness of self, producing contumeliousness and insolent injury to others. A blasphemer - calling God an imposter, not content to to speak evil of Christ but acting out against them to do injury and wreck havoc ... because just like Paul in the bible and just like I WAS a poor blind ignorant bigot. Ignorant not because without the means of knowledge , no there is ample opportunity right here on Yahoo Answers to receive the fullest evidence. Ignorance caused by being closed to experiencing the truth; preventing one from obtaining tender mercy and abundant grace, "which is in Christ Jesus".

You misunderstand where the anger and unpleasantness is coming from. In most cases, it has nothing to do with 'disbelief'; but because of those Christians who are constantly berating them about G-d, the Bible, Jesus the Christ, and other religious issues.
We are not meant to be 'converting' anyone to what we believe, that is not and has never been our "job" as a Christian. I am not saying to stop sharing the Christian faith with others. But there is a time and place for everything. And we have forgotten that the Holy Spirit has the sole duty and function of what we call conversion. We are to be witnesses to others, by sharing Christ with them, through our actions. And then (when) they ask direct questions we must be willing to openly and honestly answer them.
It would make anyone angry and unpleasant if you were constantly telling me I “had” to believe exactly the same thing you do; especially, when people can see all the hypocrisy permeating the church today. I mean with priests molesting kids, drug scandals, and that women who murder her (minister) husband. What are they supposed to think?
The other “put off” is when people are approached on the street or a couple of Christians come to the door of their home and begin preaching to them. I will give you an example: I have a friend who is Jewish; we were at a bus stop one day and suddenly approached by a young woman. Now, understand I have never been on the “receiving” end of any street evangelizing. I have to admit even I was taken aback by the way she walked up to us. I am a Christian, who was taught doing this is a way of “bringing” people to Christ. A moment of a delightful conversation between my friend and I turned into anger and a sense of being offended; that a total stranger would tell us what to believe or not believe. My Jewish friend just turned to this young woman and in an angry voice said “We already have our religion, go away!”
Ever since that experience I have come to realize this approach will not “win” anyone over to Christ. I have also noticed a difference in our friendship; she does not come over as often as she used to. This not only makes me very sad but a little hurt, well maybe angry at the young woman. I know, that is not the way a Christian should react, but it is the truth.

If you don't believe that God is real then nothing is sure; everything is relative. You have to be the god and figure out what is good and evil on your own.
That's what eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did. It tore the creation in two and made it a mixture of both good and evil, and changed it from the whole and perfect universe that it was.
Believing in Jesus restores us to being one with God the Father and creator. As long as we are here on earth we will have to contend with the world, the flesh, and the devil, but we overcome them by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

I think that others view Christians as the ones who are angry because they misinterpret our frustration for anger. We tend to get frustrated because we know what will give them peace beyond understanding but some don't seem to want it. Why?! It's like we are trying to help them but they won't listen!
They are angry because they have an emptiness that only God can fill.

Maybe it is because they do not understand and some people do not like what they cannot understand.Or it could be that they do not like being told what to do because they do not realize Jesus teaching us to become like him so that we can co-reign with him and save us from the white throne judgment.plus not all people who disbelieve are angry and unpleasant.I known some people who did not follow Jesus who were very kind and some of those people i work with.It does not mean that because they are nice they go to heaven and i do pray for them.

At this point I have to bring to light the fact that you are basing your stereotype of atheists on the regulars here on R&S. I think a little research into the overall population would be advisable before you start making overgeneralizations

Unbelievers could ask the same question of Christians- why so angry and unpleasant that you find it righteous to declare someone hellbound/hellworthy for not ascribing to your particular beliefs?
PS- Not saying you're like this, but in my experience, many Christians most definitely are, even toward other Christians.

Disbelief in what?
If you mean Jesus, and that doctrine... I can quite honestly say I am much more happy and pleasant as the person I am today than the person I was when I younger and "believed".
Try not to make assumptions, would you?

I'm a Christian, and to be fair about it, many of the unbelievers I know are not "angry and unpleasant". While I do not share their unbelief, I have to be truthful and say that my atheist and non-Christian friends do not go around acting angry at the world, nor are they unpleasant to deal with.

If I lived a life where I constantly pursued self-glorification I would most likely be that way too. I, however, pursue something much more fulfilling.
Men of the world want for all things and above all things to please their own lusts, something that can never be satisfied. This desire never dies so they are never happy.
