Nichole B. The last Auto da Fe happened in 1820. They started back in the 600's. The actual persecution of Christians in Rome started under Nero AD 70 and ended under Claudius about 30 years later.
There were executions before that, but those were a law and order thing. The Romans had no idea why the Jews in the City were rioting against each other.

Not a bit. Raven. For it is only as little children that we may enter the Kingdom of Heaven--if it exists.

The ones who were burned at the stake were the "heretics" who chose to follow the Bible instead of man in a pointy hat.

Coffeepot, if you will take the time to actually READ a history book or two you will find that it was NOT just the Catholics who burned Witches at the stake (or hanged them). In the Germanic State about as many witches were executed for following the old religion by protestants as by Catholics. The same for the British Islews, and many other parts of Europe. The 19 people executed in the Salem Witch trials were ALL executed by protestants. There is NO sect of Christianity that is able to claim that they have NO blood on their hands. And the killing of Witches continues even to this very day in parts of Africa. Yet, to date not ONE single Christian has ever been killed by a Wiccan in the name of HIS/HER Faith.

Well, since you obviously don't know, an Islamic Muslim would NEVER attend a Christian church. And Senator Obama is not anti-America at all. If you read his book, The Audacity of Hope, the last sentence in his text is this: My heart is full for the country I love. Now does that sound anti-America to you?

when was the last time Christians burned somebody at the stake??? Most of the time it was the early Christians being burned..Most of us..just as Most other people of various beliefs...are non-violent, nor do we hate..We are commanded which means it is not an option to love EVERYONE...we do not have to condone their behavior nor agree with it...but we are not to condemn them either...I do not ever have fantasies of anyone burning in hell..the thought of people I know or love possibly going to hell churns my stomach... even people I don't know..there is nothing calming nor amusing to me about hell...but I guess if you don't believe in it then it doesn't matter to you what I think about it.
I don't get offended by ignorance, which to me the categorizing of all Christians as violent or hate groups is ignorant...just as saying something like all Mormon's are polygamists or all Muslims believe in terrorism...those are just ridiculous ignorant statements.

The Catholics burned believers at the stake. Believers like me, who would not accept their popery nor white witchcraft, nor their false doctrine or counterfeit Jesus.
Hey, you should join. Either way you still get to live your life whatever way you please, and bonus, you can get a front seat at the burnings. Maybe make yourself a s'more.

Do you get offended that most people would find your level of intelligence comparative to that of a small child?

that church does not speak for me....and I agree with Atheist Nightmare above...the people that perpetrated crimes against humanity were the ones in the pointy hats....I.e. Catholics.

It is offensive, but I dont dwell on it. We are not straping bombs to ourselves and blowing people up, so the title doesnt fit. I dont relish the idea of anyone going to hell, but if they reject free salvation through Jesus Christ, the bible says they will.
