Sometimes it's hard to keep creepy neighbors away. Maybe you could explain to him that you do not enjoy him being in your yard, and ask him politely to keep off.
The sprinklers idea is a good thing, but I disagree with the Pitbulls...that could lead to a much bigger thing, and maybe even a lawsuit.
Good luck keeping them away!

I wouldn't be concerned about aggressive measures. I would be as aggressive as it took to get it thru his thick head that he's not allowed on my property.
But I would start with a straight up, firm talking to that he is NOT allowed on my property without my permission.
Then, a dog, and a fence and another talking to if he keeps it up.
Then calls to the police, the purchase of a firearm, and a firm understanding of the laws and my rights in regards to my property and the use of a firearm to defend myself and my property.
People who won't listen are often dangerous.
But I wouldn't be at all concerned about getting aggressive.
If he pushes it that far, that's his problem.

I'm sorry Dear Creepy Neighbor, but I'd appreciate it if you could keep out of the yard when we're not with you. Liability issues, you know.

In casual conversation, or within earshot of the creepy neighbor, loudly mention how you are having your lawn aereated/treated with chemicals, or whatever, and talk about how you are going to have to try not to walk on it for the next few weeks. Either that, or complain loudly about how your lawn is full of ants/stickers, and they won't want to be on it.

Well you can tell him you have some contagious disease.... that'll keep him away.... tell him you have bird flu... and tie a few chickens around the yard for good measure.

high fences make good neighbors.
why does he come to your yard to begin with? get rid of what he likes. it could be you that he likes; in that case, let him know you aren't into him like that.

There's a saying: "Good fences make good neighbors." I'm thinking a six or eight foot high wooden privacy one would make him delightful. =)
