Spider bites are pretty common. If the red mark gets worse or the bite looks worse, definitely see a doctor.

The red mark is probably from when you scratched yourself. The best way to find out if it's a spider bite is by looking at the puncture marks. If there is only one, then it was probably some type of insect. If there are two, side by side, then it was probably a spider.
As for the itching and swelling, hydrocortizone works really well.
If your having any odd symptoms, dizziness, nausea, etc, you might want to get to the doctor. Spider bites are rarely fatal, but can be quite serious.

For now, use some Benadryl or Cortizone to help with the itching. Itching will just increase possibility of infection and open up the wound more, as well as make any scar worse.

If you have nausea, vomiting, serious diarrhea, dizziness, hotness to the wound, a burning sensation, or if the wound begins to open up, get medical help ASAP.

Otherwise, don't worry, it will go away very soon, just remember NOT TO ITCH!

You probably scratched yourself when you were itching it in the night. If the itching continues, try something like cortozone cream or something that helps relieve the itching. Rubbing alcohol isnt usually used for bites. It should be gone in a few days.
