Most pet store puppies come from puppy mills. That is why you should never buy a puppy from a pet store, or off the internet from someone you have never met. THis is the Least graffic video I could find about puppy mills. That is how bad Puppy Mills are:

I agree with you -but only partially. I have gotten dogs from the pound, I've taken in strays, and I have bought from a pet store. The last puppy I bought is mentally challenged and I truly believe that I saved her life buy taking her home with me.

It's not the puppies fault, so they should not be punished by being kept for entirely too long in small cages without love. And these same puppies will be put to sleep. We need to help them and...

WE NEED TO FIND OTHER WAYS OF STOPPING PUPPY MILLS!

Yes our pet store that we go to takes puppies in from reputable breeders that can not sell them for some reason and want to give them a second chance. As well they take puppies from local SPCA to help them find another home and free up kennels there for new animals coming in. The best thing to do is ask and have them prove to you where there come from. Our dog had a certificate from the breeder with his signature on it stating it was from a reputable breeder.

AMEN!!!! I have gotten all my dogs from either a shelter or a breeder. The last dog I got was from about 400 miles away because the local breeder who claimed to not be a puppy mill was exactly that all the animals were out doors incages and she was selling her "retired" breeding dogs.

Yes, I do. Unforunately there will allways be PB bent gits who reffuse to beleive it and wind up going to a pet store regardless of what they've been told because all the local breeders in their area are snobs. As long as there are idiots in the world, so will there be pupy mills, and since the idiots have been around since the dawn of the human race, I doubt that it's gonna change any time soon.

they should come from local breeders with high standards...unfortunately some buy from puppy mills, and if they do they should be turned in.
I prefer the shelter or pound, matter of fact my chihuahua was a death row rescue, they have a bad rep, and no one wanted her..but, she is a love. Im so glad I adopted her..she is a boon to my older dog, and a joy to the family.

Its too bad they can't stop this mess and let these animals get out of their i am surprized the states allow this and know this they have to know what is going on sad.

Yes they come from puppy mills/backyard breeders. Stay clear of them as once a pup is born the more they intend to breed,

I did know, thankyou for helping to educate the populace who is so tempted by the fuzzy cuteness (there is actually a release of dopamine when a mammal sees a baby mammal) and convience of grabbing a puppy at the mall.

In the UK it is illegal for pet store to sell puppies/ kittens
Could you not start the ball rolling about getting it banned in your state / country. You seem to have the knowledge about this subject so go for it and good luck

It's hard to adopt a dog from an animal shelter because chances are they are emotionally disturbed. I'm no dog whisperer.
