What kinds of foods are you eating? You can eat 900 calories but they can be all crap food.

EAT MORE AND EAT MORE OFTEN. If you really want to lose weight, you need to eat 5 small meals per day, with the biggest calorie distribution during midday. Your meals should be high protien, medium in carbs, and low in fat (good fats like avocados, nuts, seeds, beans, and fish.) This will keep your metabolism high and keep your nutritional intake at an optimal level as well.

It really sound like you need some nutritional counseling. Check with weight watchers or a similar group in your area to find out the best way to eat for your body type and weight loss goals. You're doing it WRONG and could definitely use some support from people in a similar situation!

(The previous poster is right, you aren't eating enough and your body is storing what you DO eat as fat. )

Factors like age can also make a difference. Also it can depend on what these 900 calories are, what food type. Drinking a lot of liquids can add weight.

900 calories are not enough. How much do you weigh? How tall are you? How old are you? All of these factors are important in gaging what your caloric intake should be for weight loss. In order to effectively loss weight, you must burn off more calories in a day then you consume. However, you must maintain a healthy diet in order to lose weight.

I am currently dieting and my nutritionist has me on 1,500 a day.

I'd see a doctor/nutritionist on this. It could be a thyroid issue. Exercise is extremely important, and safer than dramatically cutting calories; if your body thinks that it's starving, it may be more prone to storing fat, and will take its energy from other sources. If you're otherwise eating and exercising well, I'd definitely have your thyroid checked.

Are you exercising? It's very simple. You burn more calories than you consume. So, even if you eat 900 calories, 500 calories, or even 100 calories a day. If you don't burn those calories, it will convert to fat.
And even though you don't eat anything at all, you are still using the energy supply from the day before.

Are you eating right before bed, working out and drinking enough water? All of these three things could be a factor

I would eat alittle more. Eat alot of boneless skinless chicken breast, egg whites and things packed with protein. Try to eat around 5 small meals a day. Eat whole grain bread, and try to get a complex carb with every meal
