I'm going to Indy for my birthday with my husband and my parents.
What would be a nice place to have dinner and celebrate? (not a formal place but a lively one where my parents would also have a good time).
Thanks!

I LOVE the Spaghetti Factory downtown! In fact, I've celebrated my own birthday there several times! It has so much atmosphere, and the food is great and SO reasonably priced. But be prepared to wait - it's always crowded on the weekend. I advise putting your name in with the hostess, and then taking a short walk around downtown until your table is ready.

And, if you want music, the Slippery Noodle is just a couple of blocks south of the Spaghetti Factory.

Lots of fun! Have a great birthday! :)

Two excellent places in Indy for a great time and good food are Buca di Beppo and Bazbeaux. Bucca di Beppo is wonderful authentic family-style Italian. There are two locations--downtown and on the north side at Castleton Mall. Bazbeaux is the place for the best gourmet pizza anywhere. There are three locations--Broadripple (the original and a great place to go if you'd like to do some walking around and explore the cultural side of Indy.), downtown on Mass Ave. and on the north side in Carmel.

Downtown: PF Chang's, Ram Brewery, Rock Bottom Brewery, and Alcatraz Brew Pub are all very nice chain restaurants. Food is always good and the atmosphere is good as well. The Claddaugh Irish Pub is a smaller chain that I love going to. The Spaghetti Factory is very good. Palomino is a small step more upscale but I've heard nothing but good reviews. Finally the Weber Grill is new and I've tried it yet.

Castleton Area: Large number of chain restaurants, from Don Pablos and TGI Fridays to Texas Roadhouse and Chili's. Puccini's is an excellent pizza joint on 86th and Dean.

Random Places: Arni's on 86th & Michigan is a fun place, but hard to get into most nights. Some Guy's Pizza is on 62nd & Allisonville, similar to Puccini's. Murphy's Steakhouse is very good, maybe a little expensive, on 42nd and Keystone. Pat Flynn's Pub is on 52nd and Allisonville. Jonathon Byrd's Cafeteria is on the south side. I've heard rave reviews about their food, but it is a cafeteria.

The Spaghetti Factory downtown is a neat place to go and it is fairly inexpensive. Jillians may be another alternative, it is like a Chuck E Cheese for grownups! Hope this helps! Enjoy your time in Indy!

Nice restaurant- PF Changs- great food- get the lettuce wraps!

You said lively...does that mean bar? The slippery noodle is also downtown- they have good music.

Or if you just want good fun...try the comedy club crackers. They usually have great comics..
