The earliest human bones to have ever been found are neanderthal's bones...ape-like humans with VERY small brains. If these small brained people represent the earliest human form, shouldn't Adam and Eve be forgiven their mistakes in the Garden of Eden?

Also: scientific, anthropological evidence, along with DNA studies, point toward humankind originating in Africa. Is this where the Garden of Eden really is?

O.k. well for those of you who are saying "no" they were just like "you and me"- then how do you explain neanderthals? We know they existed. Their bones don't lie. And the carbon dating system doesn't, either....

JIM: I found your answer to be absolutely fascinating- and I'm curious as to what religion (if any?) you derrived this from? It's the first time I've ever heard anything like it, and I'm interested to hear more....I would have emailed you but your profile says you don't allow emails. Anyway- thanks for that new perspective. It's interesting!

Consider this explanation of the creation of all things:
From the void of nothingness (Spirit), God created all things that are physical with thought (faith.) He created it as science explains it. Science is not contrary to God, it is His gift to us to explain the miracle of creation and life to us. In the beginning He created all the atoms, elements, molecules and compounds that we know today. He created them in one mass and exploded them into the Universe. The stars and planets were formed and eventually all things evolved as science explains it (man included.) This was God’s intent and purpose. When man had evolved to the point where he could reason, God created Adam to bring the knowledge of Himself to all mankind. This is why God made Adam from the Earth (Physical) and breathed His life into him (Spiritual.) Adam had to be part Earth (physical) and part God (just as Jesus – The Second Adam was.) This gave Adam the knowledge of God that he and his lineage could impart to the rest of mankind (the evolved humans – the Gentiles.)
These evolved humans were the men who Cain was afraid would slay him after he killed Abel and they were the wives of Adam and Eve’s sons. The Bible says that the ‘the Sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were fair and took them wives from all that they chose.’ Adam and Eve were not the first humans created, they were the first Jews, and their sons were the Sons of God, the first of the chosen lineage who would bring the knowledge of God to all humankind.

God intended for Adam and Eve to sin and receive the knowledge of Good an Evil, otherwise there would have been no tree of knowledge in the Garden. It was necessary in order for them to be part spirit and part Earth. It made them 'complete' and like God Himself. After all, God created 'ALL' things, both good and evil for His use.

God really does exist and Jesus really was His Son. The Bible is true, it just needs to be properly understood. God is not sitting there waiting to ‘smite’ us, He loves us and leads us into all righteousness, which is really just loving others as we love ourselves.

I seen on the history channel or discovery not to long ago that they determined after looking at Neandertal DNA that there was no biological relationship,I mean humans were not descended from them. They could have had sex (to put it bluntly) with humans but no viable offspring would have been produced from such a union. So I don't believe Adam and Eve were Neandertals. Interesting question though.
As for the Garden of Eden. According to my faith, it was in Heaven. But say you subscribe to the Christian view where it was at the joining of the tigris, euphrates and two other unknown rivers. I seen a similar study where they speculate it might be under the Persian Gulf very near present day Kuwait before the sea level and the Gulf were as high as they are today. Appearantly the 4 rivers converged in this area.

Adam and eve are humans like all of us. What the people in genesis are saying is that they are descended from a tribe of naked hunter gatherers who went on to be clothes wearing agriculturalists. They were warned that if they depart from the old ways it would lead to their eventual destruction. Today we see what agricultualism is doing to the planet and how unsustainable are modern practices. Naked hunter gatherers are some of the oldest cultures on the planet. These people live within their means and could go on living for hundreds of thousands of years to come if undisturbed. The ancient message is there, being passed down through the ages. This is ancient knowledge. It is just lost in translation. The only way that mankind can continue to live on this planet without exterminating himself is to live off the land in an Eden-like manner. Depart from Eden and you shall surely die. Yes, you will gain knowledge which you will use for good and for evil but death is certain. Many tractors could be built from a single tank. The detractors who tell you that you will not truly die are a quibbler with forked tongue. It is delusional to think that moving from a Mexican or Brazilian rain forest unto a plantation or into a garment factory is an improvement on the human being. To many traditional cultures this is death. But yet again lost in translation. Let the dead bury their dead.

Neanderthals? No, just like you and me.

Eden Garden location? The only points of reference we have is that the rivers Tigris and Eufrates were two of four rivers located in the borders of the Garden of Eden, so at least part of the Garden of Eden was at the current territory of Irak. The current names of the other two rivers are not known. One of them located in Africa? That would be a huge garden.

You are confusing lies for the truth. There were no "neanderthals" That is made up by scientists. Adam and Eve were people, just like you and me. The animals were created in their own likenesses. People were created in God's image. And I'm pretty sure His image is not of any ape or monkey!!!

The Neanderthals have no living descendants. They did not breed with Cro Magnon.

that is seriously twisted but i don't think either one have anything to do with each other. i believe that Adam and eve were homohabilis. these are to completely different theories you are combining. most people think that life started with Lucy and others or they think that everything was created by god and that the evolution theory is bull.

Isn't this an example of a false premise?
