Curiosity of why things are and could possibly be.
I don't depend on religions or gods to answer my questions I read widely from many perspectives, observe and weigh the evidence.

I see intelligence in someone's ability to carry on a conversation. We may not have all of the answers, but speaking clearly and concisely about it shows some firing between the neurons.
And my answer is universal - my views on belief are independent of intelligence.

Hi. I guess to me, it all boils down to one thing. Critical thinking.
A tiny caveat, of course.... critical thinking (about religion) is probably impossible if the indoctrinated subject holds less than a rudimentary knowledge of history or science - the type you learn in school or at the library, for example, not the type you "hear" from the pulpit.
And in answer to your second question, (assuming we're still on the subject of religion here), I suppose my response is universal because I believe science and history are our best teachers.

There are universal standards of intelligence, of course, and they become self-apparent and have always been self-validating within all communities. The only difference is in the application of that intelligence, and this can vary due to cultural and religious differences.
I might add that there are notable instances of cultural loss of intelligence; i.e., the last American presidential election.

Intelligence is the ability to question accepted wisdom. By being religious you don't become intelligent, or prevent your own intelligence. However by following a religion without questioning it, or opposing people questioning it; you are stupid.

Intelligence is given by an understanding of your surroundings and others feelings. Basically, intelligence is awareness..

Independent thought. Actually thinking about things.
As for belief in God, I have met very few intelligent believers.

When one sees with there own eyes, hears with there own ears and tastes with there own mouth, only then is there a possibility that God will be known.
