I was asked when I was a PVT by our BDE CSM, "What do you think is the job of a CSM?" I responded, "You ride around and look for trash to pick up. Because all we hear is CSM wants that trash picked up." I said this a day after we were sent behind some buildings near the post fence (which was out in the woods) to pick up some trash...

A PT Test is just an easy day of PT if you train right...

Full Battle Rattle or as some others have called it Snivel Gear..

1. Recoilless rifles- aren't.
2. Suppressive fire- won't.
3. If the enemy is in range, so are you.
4. A sucking chest wound is natures way of telling you to lay down.
5. Never do anything to draw fire, it upsets the folks around you.
6. Anything you do to avoid enemy fire-- Will probably get you hit.
7. Make it tough for the enemy to get in and you probably can't get out.
8. The easy way is always mined.
9. If you are short of everything except the enemy, you are in combat.
10. If your assault is going better than you anticipated, it's an ambush.
11. No combat ready unit passes inspection.
12. No unit that passes inspection is ready for combat.
13. Friendly fire- isn't.
14. Tracers work both ways.
15. A 5 second fuse on a grenade is usually 2-3.
16. Remember, your weapon and equipment was made by the lowest bidder.
17. Privates can screw anything up, sometimes it just takes awhile.

I have two.
1. A collision at sea can ruin a perfect day.
2. Warnecke's Law: The odds are eight to five that the light at the end of the tunnel is on the front of an oncoming express train.

Incoming Artillery ALWAYS has the right of way!

Prior Planning Prevents P*ss Poor Performance.

Don't shoot without a clear target: it draws fire and annoys the people around you.

Cautious and dead is worse than quick and damned. Meaning? Shoot first and ask questions later!
