I received a certified letter today from a well known regional tattoo artist informing me that it is believed that some of the tattoo ink that he used in my latest tattoo was counterfeit. It is believed to be imported from China and contaminated with lead. What should I do?

Go have a lead check at your doctor. They can tell if the lead levels are up with a blood test. You should also thank your tattoo artist for being so thoughtful.

The furry stuffed toy itself won't because its made of cotton and so is its clothes or some sort of fabric there aren't too many things that are associated with a stuffed animal that would have lead in them . Maybe if its painted or something but the eyes and things are usually plastic .So not likely to be in danger of being contaminated with lead but if you're not sure if its been near anything unsafe wash it!!

Thats interesting, because most people don't realise it, but tattoo pigments have all kinds of stuff in them from poisen like arsenic to metals that are toxic. I say 'pigment' because the only real 'ink' in the buisness is black. I wouldn't worry about being in any danger if the tattoo has already healed, cause once the scab has come off, the pigment has come out with it. Yep. What you are left with is simply dyed skin.

do what magix151 said find out what will be affected health wise, and then go talk to the artist about what will be affected tattoo wise. there may be a fix for the tattoo after making sure your body is ok.

Just go to your Dr. and have some blood work done, he'll tell you if your levels are too high.
