I have moved in with my partner and I am wondering what I have to do with the neighbourhood office,

I moved in with him today I am going to the neighbourhood office tommorow to put myself on the electors roll here, what will the staff there ask of me, previous address, how much I am earning?

My partner is not working at the moment, I am, how much council tax will I have to pay?

Contact your local council and they will send you a form to complete and send back to them, it will take a couple of weeks to get on the register as they do not update it every day, maybe just once a month. All they need to know is that you are living where you say you are.
You will have to pay the full rate of council tax regardless of whether your partner is working or not. If you were living alone you'd get a 25% discount but this will not apply in your case unfortunately.

you will only get on the electoral roll around October when they send a card to your addres asking for a list of residents and this is published around April the following year.
you wont have to give any details to anyone on what you earn or your previous address in fact why are you going to neighrbood office at all it as nothing to with them if you have moved in with your b/f. the council tax will be all dependant on your circumstances and nobody on this forum can possibly give you a answer without all the details

what you have to do is tell your boyfriend to write to housing benefit and inform them of a change in circumstances.(if he rents the property) if he owns his home then you only have to tell council tax.

you will have to provide them with proof of earnings ie your wageslips and they may ask for your bank statements too to make sure you only have the one wage coming in and also that you dont have any savings.

they will then assess how much rent your boyfriend has to pay and they will pass on all this information to council tax so he wont have to do it twice.

as for the electoral register a form will be sent to your boyfriend in the next few months so just wait for this and have your boyfriend put your name on.
