depends on where you are and what you stole. Petty larceny amounts differ from one state to another. But generally, if it is 100 dollars (the value of the item) then it is petty larceny, if it is more, then it is grand larceny which carries longer penalties. MY advice, DON'T STEAL..........

the penalties on theft differ from state to state, and in my state it depends on the value of the item, if it is over 1000 dollars it is a 3rd degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in state prison.......

LOL depends on what you're stealing? music? cable? people's houses? there a different penalties for different thefts

2) what - misdemeanor or felony
3)where- each court (judge) deals with each case differently.
4) When- adult or juvenile
5) how- Armed or just shoplifting
